first prelim final day, how are you feeling @Kiwiwomble ?
It's weird. Sydney are heavy favourites with the bookies, but i see a lot of chat that the expectation is Port win. Part of it is obviously this streak that Port have over Sydney, but also i think people tend to have short memories, and they remember Port winning last week, so they overrate that win. Throw in Sydney stealing their first final win...
I still think Sydney win, but i am a little concerned that their main scoring threats are in their midfield.
I have hated the Power since 2004 so i hope Sydney do them
-
all things being equal we should win, we've been top of the table most of the year....but they did put over a 100 on us not long ago (think i heard we're the only team for more than 50 years yo lose by more than 100 and finish top of the table or something)......and based on pretty mush every other game this year....fuck knows and anything could happen
literally the only constant this year seem to be we finish strong
-
i think turning up in the first quarter for a change would be a pretty decent idea
-
@mariner4life boring...we got were we are giving teams at least 30-40 first half leads, stick to the formula
more seriously (or as serious as superstitions can be) im currently debating if i should by a new swans cap....or if changing anything with ruin it all
-
There we go, true to form nothing is can be banked on this season, they score first but we bounce straight back with 3 straight and never looks back, second quarter was clinical, we were 9-1 in the second, up the bloods
-
What a fucking game!!!!!!
See you next week @Kiwiwomble
-
Worthy of the final!
Good luck @mariner4life
I’m actually asking around for tickets to the final, have some mates who are mcc members so think they can go in to a draw?
The crowd noise in that final quarter was amazing, couldn’t hear the commentators
-
Brother was at the G for that. Cracking game. Brisbane Lions demonstrating the opposite of what the All Blacks can do; take control in the second half and maintain composure to score when necessary.
-
Congrats @mariner4life
That was a great watch
-
Got offered a ticket...
-
-
Undecided.
A few external factors to consider
-
@mariner4life do it if you can

we had a great, even regular season. And the finals have continued that. Sure the first week was a bit average, but was saved by the epic Sydney v GWS game. Both games last weekend were amazing finals. And then Saturday night was arguably the game of the year.
Brisbane were so good in the 2nd half on Saturday. The 2nd quarter Geelong were absolutely having their way with us, but Fages took the shackles off and we played FAST in the 3rd and ran the Cats off the ground. The 4th was just a shitfight, both teams were running from everywhere and then were fucked. And when the Cats hit the lead i thought we were done, but Cam fucking Rayner i love you. Astoundingly, in a game of equal scoring shots, it was the Lions winning by kicking more goals than behinds. What even is this play off run?
Some huge Lions efforts. Joe Daniher in the ruck after we lost Big O (and he won't play the GF). Lohmann. Rayner. Darcy Wilmott getting a heap of it. Will Ashcroft is an absolute star.
I think we are in for a great GF. I can't see either team belting the others (unless the Lions have given everything already). The Lions can score heavily and quickly so Sydney will never feel safe. The regular season game there was nothing between these sides. Can't wait.

i thought the swans v cats GF in 22 would be close.....

Mark tonight as the moment the Brownlow officially lost all relevance.
Patrick Cripps wins with a record 45 points. This is the equivalent of 15 best on grounds. Carlton won 13 games. Cripps polled 3 votes in 2 losing efforts.
If that isn't enough, the guy who came 2nd polled the 2nd highest tally of all time.
This award is now confirmed as an absolute joke.
Also goal and mark of the year were boring as shit
