Under sheedy all those years ago they were such a powerhouse, and annoying if you didn’t support them ,
On the tigers I’m happy they have gone for the total rebuild and given up on trying to patch things , bottom out now and get what they can from the draft before tassie come in . The pain is bearable after our period of success .

And so finals are under way
Geelong might have killed Ken Hinkley
A reminder that after 7 rounds Hawthorn were 1-6. Who would bet against them now making a prelim? And would you want to play them?
Sydney v GWS was an absolute classic. For three quarters it looked like another upset, but this Isaac Heeney guy is quite good at football.
And then lol at Carlton. The Lions got themselves to 10-goals to nil in front and then sat on their lead for 2 and a half quarters. The very definition of a flattering margin in the end.So we are off to GWS this week, while Hawthorn travel to Adelaide.

what a fucking result for the bloods, went down to the pub and watched with some mate who were really bothered but had them all cheering with 3min to go
i have no idea if that was our final and we left it all out there....of that will galvanise us...and we'll win the next 2 games by +60
Heeny with an absolute hanger (and just on the wing...not in the square to give a goal or anything)....and then kicking one from 65m

Geelong looked to be the standout team of the finals so far after putting Port to the sword as they did and now almost a lock in for one of the GF spots. However knowing how there has been so many ups and downs this year could be a couple of more surprises in store.
I love an outsider so will be jumping on the Hawks bandwagon this weekend
-
How do you come back from 44 down in the 3rd qtr?
@mariner4life will be pleased with that result no doubt ...
-
Lol I was completely blind after the races and passed out down by a thousand
Woke to a WTF??!!!
How good?
And how bad for the Giants. They have led almost the entirety of their 2 finals and they are out in straight sets
-
Joe Daniher winning the game with clutch set shots is not a sentence I ever expected to type

I'm sure their 50 fans that bothered to show up to a home playoff game are gutted.....

i wasn't even drunk and i flicked over to watch a movie just before 3 quarter time....forgone conclusion and all.....up the lions

Great weekend of footy. Port holding on for a win and Ken Hinkley taking out all his frustration on Ginnivan was hilarious. Port actually have a ridiculously good record against Sydney so they are a huge chance to play the GF.
Lions off to Geelong. Last time we played them in a prelim they absolutely torched us. Saturday was our first 4th quarter performance in months, and it may have papered over the cracks. Are we a chance? yes we can score lots of points. But this feels like our ceiling this year. Look out next year when we have two Ashcrofts.
-
first prelim final day, how are you feeling @Kiwiwomble ?
It's weird. Sydney are heavy favourites with the bookies, but i see a lot of chat that the expectation is Port win. Part of it is obviously this streak that Port have over Sydney, but also i think people tend to have short memories, and they remember Port winning last week, so they overrate that win. Throw in Sydney stealing their first final win...
I still think Sydney win, but i am a little concerned that their main scoring threats are in their midfield.
I have hated the Power since 2004 so i hope Sydney do them
-
all things being equal we should win, we've been top of the table most of the year....but they did put over a 100 on us not long ago (think i heard we're the only team for more than 50 years yo lose by more than 100 and finish top of the table or something)......and based on pretty mush every other game this year....fuck knows and anything could happen
literally the only constant this year seem to be we finish strong
-
i think turning up in the first quarter for a change would be a pretty decent idea
-
@mariner4life boring...we got were we are giving teams at least 30-40 first half leads, stick to the formula
more seriously (or as serious as superstitions can be) im currently debating if i should by a new swans cap....or if changing anything with ruin it all
