AFL 2024

and i hate them for it and cheer every repeated failure
(i have this horrible sneaking suspicion they will boot us out this week and i will go in to a massive sulk)
-
Yeah it's a weird one, they are going to get half a dozen first teamers back and it might give them the boost they need. Underdog mentality against a Lions team that's probably a step off where they were last year.
I'd still tip the Lions though. They just have the class edge that the Blues don't.

for 3 of 4 quarters, and approximately 35% of their scoring shots.

In other trade news, Tom Lynch seems like a guy you want beside you in the trenches. Left the Suns to go to the Tigers when they were at the top. Now the Tigers are at the bottom, he's making googly eyes at Collingwood (and Melbourne to be fair, which is funny).
Never got the feeling we received value from Lynch.
-
To be fair, Richmond are going to be historically bad next season. Can't blame Lynch for wanting out.
How would you be if you were Hopper or Taranto though. Got sold the Ferrari dream but now living with the Datsun reality, while GWS just keep on winning. Good money though so that helps.

i get that the All Australian team is bullshit, and they just pack it with as many midfielders as they can
But Harris Andrews not making it is a fucking travesty. The best defender in the comp having a huge year doesn't get in? bullshit.
-
@mariner4life i dont keep over all the other teams so there might be obvious reasons for someone that does....but i was surprised brodie grundy...he's had several game winning performances for us this year

These are names of actual people? Sound like a couple of Law firms.
Off to GOM ...

More like marketing firm vibes...

This first AFL final is a belter! Geelong have just stolen a lead, but the quality of football and the quality of the goals is awesome
-
From the time I posted the above it was one way traffic and Geelong smashed them.
The Cats were too clean and too fast. Very impressive.Port fans back to calling for their coach t9 get sscked I guess.
-
what a fucking hiding for a final!...nervous about the bloods now
-
What year is it? Geelong and hawthorn going bang!!
-
Good stat
Since essendon last won a final
Hawthorn have built a premiership side, won 4 flags, bottomed out, rebuilt, and now won a final

Under sheedy all those years ago they were such a powerhouse, and annoying if you didn’t support them ,
On the tigers I’m happy they have gone for the total rebuild and given up on trying to patch things , bottom out now and get what they can from the draft before tassie come in . The pain is bearable after our period of success .
-
And so finals are under way
Geelong might have killed Ken Hinkley
A reminder that after 7 rounds Hawthorn were 1-6. Who would bet against them now making a prelim? And would you want to play them?
Sydney v GWS was an absolute classic. For three quarters it looked like another upset, but this Isaac Heeney guy is quite good at football.
And then lol at Carlton. The Lions got themselves to 10-goals to nil in front and then sat on their lead for 2 and a half quarters. The very definition of a flattering margin in the end.So we are off to GWS this week, while Hawthorn travel to Adelaide.
-
what a fucking result for the bloods, went down to the pub and watched with some mate who were really bothered but had them all cheering with 3min to go
i have no idea if that was our final and we left it all out there....of that will galvanise us...and we'll win the next 2 games by +60
Heeny with an absolute hanger (and just on the wing...not in the square to give a goal or anything)....and then kicking one from 65m
-
Geelong looked to be the standout team of the finals so far after putting Port to the sword as they did and now almost a lock in for one of the GF spots. However knowing how there has been so many ups and downs this year could be a couple of more surprises in store.
I love an outsider so will be jumping on the Hawks bandwagon this weekend
