Oh no, I well remember result the last time we played them down there in blizzard like Antarctic conditions all those years ago.

Thanks, there is no radio commentary available on the local HB stations.

Was that the promotion match in 1989ish? We thrashed them at home in the round robin and finished top, but the rules then were if you played someone at home in round robin, you played them away in playoffs

ANyone watching? I understand it is seven nil to the home side. I am already hiding any sharp knives that might cause problems.
Due to 94 I expect us to lose any game in Invercargill. Combine it with our lack of coaching and the currents coaches' love of the old coaches' Wellington mates (he seemingly loves them more) and I'm watching this like it's a horror movie.

15 minutes gone, still 7-5 to Southland.
-
HB scrum looks strong with our starting front row. Won 1 penalty and pushed them back earlier in the game
-
Sapsford drops after a great break by Visinia
-
Now Tiatia throws it forward after a break by Grigg. HB pushing too many 50/50 passes currently
-
Weber milks a good penalty throwing it into an offside player at the ruck
-
MMT scores after the driving maul was stopped
-
McClutchie gets this conversion, after previous one was off the post 7-12 after 25 minutes
-
Average exit after restart as Tiatia skews it off side of boot
-
HB scrum just outside their 22. Good strong defence
-
Another scrum penalty as we destroy them again

@Stockcar86 Not sure of the year but you have the details correct. It was an utter trouncing here at McLean Park by about fifty points in summerlike temperatures and in the final it was the polar opposite, at least conditions wise. We shivered our way to something like a seven or eight point reversal that meant we were condemned to yet another season in Div 2.
I was also present at Rugby Park for a midweek(?) game in 1981 when we pummelled them 21 - 17 in equally atrocious conditions as we took ownership of the leadership of the first division points table for that season! Was hard to see come full time as it was rather dark at 4.00pm in June, the hip flash got a good working over in the successful attempt to ward off pneumomia. From memory that team was coached by Neil Thimbleby and managed by Paddy Donovan. -
Good halfback clash - Weber v Connor McLeod
