He is Ritchie Moungas nephew that is how he ended up at St Andrew’s college,Ritchie’s school.
I hear he has signed with the Crusader’s.
Ahh cheers Chris, I remember hearing he was Richie's nephew, but as the old memory glands seem to have a leak, it had slipped my mind completely!

Seriously, how do you lose to the Turbos?

I saw bits of the first half and a very occasional glimpse of the second.
Slack defence basically, and unforced errors. Same as every rugby game.

@Stargazer that was the big factor for us last week when we lost, in fact all season so far except v Ta$man, we must be the most ycd team.
-
It's the timing of the penalties too. I think the count was 12-5 but the bigger issue was that there was 3 in a row more than once. That means 60-70m given up and a 5m lineout
Auckland should of put them away at 14-0.. they had a second chance to kill the game off at the start of the second half
Manawatu scored a couple of very good tries too but it was those sequences of penalties that got them back into it
On the positive side some of the young backs performed well. McKenzie might be the best ten in the squad? However this result probably means that the top XV won't see many changes from now on
Also vote in the Auckland player of the match poll if you have an opinion. When Auckland lose there's a few people that don't vote in these ('no one deserves a vote' grumpiness?)

The staggering thing about this Turbos victory was the amount of young talent that stood up .
Isaiah Armstrong Ravula and Jordi Viljoen both 19 running the cutter in the closing 20 minutes looked like they had played together for yearsWaqa Nagala and Peña Va’a who both look like they have genuine X factor are only 20
Prop Joseph Gavigan only 21 and with some serious size
Prop Malakai Haimona Hala only 19
Lock Josh Tuala who has serious size for a lock 22
Centre Keegan Christian Goss 23
Hooker Raymond Tuputupu 20
Even TK Howden is only 22
No 8 Julian Goereke 21And when you consider they lost Fielding High players lock Hunter Morrison and halfback Kade Manuel to Hawkes Bay ,for a small union thats bloody impressive to bring through so many youngsters of this quality on what I suspect is a very low budget
-
@Steven-Harris You can include one of the Auckland players too (Leo Gordon). Throw in the Love brothers and Manawatū does lose a lot of their homegrown talent.
-
@Stargazer crazy to think they didn't offer Morrison a contract.
-
@Canes4life I think it had to do with a major sponsor pulling out late and Manawatu being in financial trouble. They then made some strange choices in who they signed and didn't sign.

Never in doubt
One of you Palmy boys might be able to confirm, but wasn’t that one of, if not the longest drought’s in NPC rugby being broken?

That is one of many questions I most definitely do not have the answer to
