@bayimports We dropped 5 points to Burnley. That's the definition of average. Made up by getting 4 off Arse

At least you're well out of relegation land now! Seriously good result against BHA as well and expecting you to topple Wolves as well with their current injuries
-
The mystery is how Luton lost to Sheffield. Could be a very costly loss.
-
Roma 4-0 Brighton
So is de Zerbi a bit of a busted flush, is it just the squad strength competing in Europe and the EPL, Loss of players in the summer or all of the above?
For me the manager brought attacking flair and for quite a while the defensive solidity Potter instilled survived for quite a while, but they now seem very open at the back and defensively naive.
Elsewhere Liverpool strolled to victory and Villa got a scoreless draw at Ajax
-
@dogmeat It's tough for teams like Brighton and Villa to compete in both as they're new to it and it's hard to know what to prioritize, I'm speaking here as a villa fan.
We've been doing the bare minimum in the conference and we really had to fight hard this morning to get a draw against and Ajax team who had been targeting this fixture, where as we have a massive game 2 days later against Tottenham which could determine our champions league fate, and we don't have the man city depth to compete in both seamlessly. We looked like we were saving a bit for the tottenham game and the return ajax fixture next week, but yeah, our EPL form and our European football form have been worlds apart so far.
-
Brighton have a big squad but not a lot of depth if that makes sense. Of the team that did so well for de Zerbi last season, Caicedo & Mac Allister have gone, Solly March has been out since the beginning of the season and Mitoma has been in and out. Joao Pedro is out for a while and they have had a few other injuries as well. Their style is high risk anyway and now they seem to have lost their cutting edge.
-
Only 4 teams previously have come back from 0-3 and won 4-3 in the premier league and now Bournemouth are the fifth. Terrible defending early and wasteful striking near the end, could have ended 6-3. Still thankful to be on the winning side this time
-
@bayimports I was following it on line. Crazy, crazy game. Once you scored your first seemed Luton totally deflated.
Luton keep on 'almost' getting a result.
I hope they stay up.
Can I take this opportunity to welcome you to the Nothing Left To Play For This Season Club.
Nice welcome to Tom Lockyer. Well done on your supporters paying for some coaches to bring Luton fans down for the game. Classy gesture.

@KiwiPie only last night I was talking to someone at the pub about how sad it was Notts County's form had fallen off a cliff since your change of Manager and how I'd always had a soft spot for them.
Now I'm going to have to retract the whole conversation

Don't be like that, I am pleased that Fulham are having a mid-table season.
Off a cliff is correct. To be fair we were heading over the cliff before the manager left. Second highest goals scored in the division, equal highest conceded - I think you can work out where the problem is.
Last 20 games, won 5, drawn 2, lost 13. Relegation form. The bonus is that we could lose the final 10 games and still stay up.

I feel the fixture betwixt Arsenal and Man City will determine the fate of the ladder.

@KiwiPie Meanwhile, the Hollywood boys of Wrexham AFC march on...
They have stumbled a bit recently but so have all the teams at the top - top 6 all with a realistic chance of finishing top 3 and automatic promotion. 7th downwards is a logjam for a play-off spot.

Unless it's a draw and Liverpool v Brighton is also a draw and then nothing changes
-
Champions League quarterfinal draw:
Arsenal vs. Bayern Munich
Atlético Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund
Real Madrid vs. Manchester City
Paris Saint-Germain vs. BarcelonaChampions League semifinal draw:
Atlético Madrid / Borussia Dortmund vs Paris Saint-Germain / Barcelona
Arsenal / Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid / Manchester CitySo Arsenal gets to face Kane again, and the two big boys play each other in the QF. That side of the draw is much tougher.

the way BHA have been of late with their own injuries, I wouldn't put it past Liverpool to win big in that game

Yeah although Bayern are weaker this season, that is a heavyweight 4 on one side and all 4 of the teams on the other side can smell a chance of making the final. PSG v Barca will be hugely entertaining.
