EPL 2023/2024

Bournemouth were red hot but have gone off the boil and if teams slow down our play we look awful. We wont go down either, but I wouldn't be surprised if Fulham beat Bournemouth this weekend after the last two showings.
As for Luton where they could find trouble in week 25 and 29 which are double features within the week, in 25 they play Liverpool and City..that should at least dent momentum
-
It’s the inconsistency that gets me. Two really impressive 5:0 wins not so long ago , play well often against top teams and can’t beat the teams around us. How long before Iwobi and Bassey are back ? Surely will lose Palhinha Tete and others at the end of the season. Was full of confidence when Silva turned down the Saudis and signed a long contract. Still don’t know what to make of the Khans and whoever else is involved in recruitment because it stuck out for a long time we needed a striker of decent quality.
Im still sour and think some of our problems arise from that shitty FA cup game against Manure last season.
Fingers crossed against Bournemouth. Pleasure to find another Fulham supporter. Non in my small city. -

Apparently Nigeria has flogged Iwobi. Reports make it sound like he's running on fumes.
You listened to the same podcast as me!
And they just made the final after a penalties win against South Africa. Ivory Coast v DR Congo currently 0-0 in the other semi.
Meanwhile Son is coming home as Korea lost to Jordan in the semis - playing Qatar in the final after 3-2 win over Iran.

Football Weekly, The Rest is Football, Two Fulham pods and occasionally The Second Tier. Barely leaves time for all the other pods I follow.
I thought Iran would smash Qatar.
3/4 semi-finalists from the Gulf Region....
Go The Chivalrous!!! Is there a worse team name in sport? - apart from the Black Cocks obviously

Arsenal really bossed Liverpool today
Arsenal did the same for most of the FA Cup match but couldn't finish their chances.
Two really comical goals that I don't even see in my Sunday league.
We need to back up that performance against West Ham - Arsenal's bogey team this season.
-
West Ham are out of sorts right now, doesn't take much sometimes to turn it around, but they looked decidedly average against us, Shef U even looked like the better team in their draw. I would be very surprised to see Arsenal lose this one.
-
Blue card in play for some levels next next year. Wont be in EPL next year, that is confirmed..
I can imagine a few managers not just players end up with these
-
@bayimports You were right about the West Ham-Arsenal game. The perfect result for the Gunners to improve the GD.
-
@bayimports So we share the Parker Trophy this season.
Bournemouth left themselves with too much to do after a poor first half but I was very nervous in the last 20.
All the teams below Fulham lost except Sheffield and Hounslow Town. Place still to play Chelsea. I reckon two more wins and we are safe. The Cherries pretty much the same

We were a comedy of errors in that first half, I couldn't believe how bad we were. However a different team in the second, I felt confident with about 13 odd corners that we would overcome the deficit, but was not to be. Left it all too late, still I can't argue with the result of the first half!
I agree with you, think we both need a couple of wins to be safe, strange comp this year, as I still don't feel safe now. Looking to see the result of the Everton appeal and Palace's collapse that could help us all

How bad were the Hammers though? Arsenal found it too easy to get into good positions. Not to take too much away from Arsenal either, there was some ruthless finishing as well.

On Sunday morning I sat through the second half of Man U v Fulham and then all of Bournemouth v City. United really are poor for a side with top 4 aspirations, no idea what their patterns of play are and so easy to open up. Only after Fulham took the lead did United start to play and press Fulham's goal. Soft keeper error to allow an equaliser and with United going all out for the win, Traore beats the useless Maguire on half-way and Iwobi with a nice finish. Fulham look very much like a mid-table team, too many weaknesses to push higher but much too strong to be in relegation danger.
Bournemouth tried to press man for man v City which was brave but too risky against a team like City and they were lucky not to concede more in the first half. Second half, Bournemouth played really well and were unlucky not to get a point. More compact but not sitting too deep and any turnovers and they released their wide men (Semenyo looked good) but too often the final cross/pass wasn't good enough. A bit like Fulham, destined to be mid-table and safe this season and with the style they play (and the purchases they are making), they could be much better next season and look to "do a Brighton".
-
Thought arsenal looked even better with jorghino back. It’s a decent 3-horse race.
-
@KiwiPie can’t wait to get home, been travelling for a while, but it has allowed me to watch the games live.
Second half from Bournemouth was one of the best halves of football from the cherries for a while. I thought we were unlucky not to find a point or more. At least we should be able to take confidence from that after a month of disappointing results. Semenyo and kerkez were my highlights, but also thought we could have gone to the bench a bit earlier as well.
Then watched Arsenal take apart Newcastle. Newcastle have some serious defensive issues right now. Can’t see them finishing much higher than mid table either and given their investment must be a failure as well

Sooner Klopp fucks off the better.
God I'm sick of him. Yesterdays cup final was an awesome match, Chelsea absolute blew it in regular time missing at least 3 chances which they should have taken.
Come extra time though, Klopp showed faith in the young players and got them over the line. Can't say they didn't deserve it.
Neville's comments very very cutting.

Everton gain 4 pts after their appeal, so jump from 17th to 15th.
There is still their potential penalty for the second breach (although will that be next season) and the same for Forest. They should have the appeal decisions announced during the final round of fixtures to increase the drama.

Rashford scored a peach of a goal. Then spent the rest of the match being absolute pants.
