@Higgins Unexpected. Obviously, Arsenal had the overwhelming majority of possession, but we didn't just sit back and defend we transitioned well and had enough chances to nick it. I think we deserved our point.
What a difference Palhina makes. Possibly the most valuable player (to his team) in theleague.
We need to keep him and add a CD, couple of FB's a back-up to Palhina and a replacement for Mitro. In the next 5 days.....

Another win for Aston Villa. Moussa Diaby is lethal. They broke their transfer record for him at 52 mil but looks to be worth every cent so far. The man has serious wheels.
I expect big things from this very strong Villi side this season. They have some serious talent there.

Saudis have ruined the beginning of 2023 season for me. Not only did they take Mitrovic ( although he might have been approaching busted flush stage ) but also unsettled Willian and coach Silva. I really want Fulham to go back to their early century form and stop yo yoing.

I watched a lot of Bundesliga highlights last season and Diaby looked quite a player - really quick but also a good finisher/provider.

The Ange revolution at Spurs is progressing with promise so far. There was a hiccup in midweek, with a team loaded with second string players getting knocked out of the league cup. Going a goal behind early last night, Spurs showcased their new high pressing and attacking mindset by putting 5 past Burnley in a 5-2 win.

I have no idea what arsenal saw in havertz. Crap at Chelsea and so far crap at arsenal.

@Billy-Tell Yes I am finding it hard to understand Arteta's hard one for Havertz. I am being patient, probably for no reason. Should have scored as with Saka. Good win though against Man U although by the width of a skin graft. Partey's injury may have forced Arteta's hand as it brought White into where he should be playing all the time. Toma can't play left back and go forward.

So a great close to the transfer window for Fulham although the Iwobi signing seems a tad desperate. Still got rid of the last of the foodbills and managed to keep Palhinha.
Joao doesn't seem to be the sort to do a dummy-spit like a certain Serbian striker, so the collapse of the Bayern deal was the best news of the summer.
I reckon Tony Khan played it well. Of course we realise it's the right move for you Joao, you go with our blessing but you understand we have to have a replacement - and then didn't try very hard to sign one.
4 games, 4 points, 4 yellows for Marco. I think the latest (well pretty much all of them) have been justified, but it's not a very good message to the squad. VAR though. Are indiscretions by the big clubs invisible?

@Bovidae yes I think he's very stubborn and playing Trossard as a nine was mad. It didn't set him up for success in the last game and because he didn't play well he didn't see any action today.
I think for 65 million we could've got another offensive midfielder who would be a lot better than Havertz.

You were quite restrained - maybe because it ended 5-1. But that was an awful decision to allow the goal - whether Leno would have got to the ball doesn't matter - Akanji's presence affected the decision he had to make. Given how reluctant VAR has been to overturn a ref's decision, they reversed the penalty decision for Arsenal. No problem with them getting the ref to take a look but many similar decisions this season they haven't referred back to the ref.
I also don't get Havertz - and his air swing on his strong foot was definitely a bad look. Martinelli was great but Saka isn't at his best yet. Strange how United ended with Maguire and Jonny Evans in central defence.

@KiwiPie Saka is becoming very predictable. They know he's going to cut the ball back onto his left foot. And without White being able to overlap or add to numbers it becomes a 4v2. Same on Martenelli's side except he is more prepared to take it to the byline. That's why Partey at right back doesn't work. Too much inversion.

I’m restrained because it’s almost funny. We have had two soft reds this season and I just know if Harry Wilson had pulled Diaz back rather than vice versa we would undoubtedly have received a third
It would have been interesting to see how city would have gone down to ten for 70 minutes
We played quite well in the first half despite having to play an 18 yr old in midfield. Not saying we would have got anything from the game at all but 5-1 didnt accurately reflect the game.
Second half was very ordinary but who can blame the players for coming out deflated. We were shit against Brentford. Not so bad at the Etihad.
Still think there are at least four teams worse than Fulham. This year. Resigned to losing Palhinha and Silva though

Dogmeat or Kiwipie do you have any knowledge about the contract Palhinha has signed for the next 4 years. Surely it is just to try and extract more when they come bidding in January.
Fulham should be ok this year I say optimistically just a few hours before playing Luxons. Surely not ??? -
It's exactly what Caicedo did so chances are Palhinha is off in January. Let's face it he deserves to be on a bigger stage than that offered by Fulham. Although I hope that we get a full season out of him and thus have more time to build the squad. The interesting thing from the reports I have read is that the new contract has no buy out clause. Unlike Caicedo
I also think we will be safe. After all it's pretty much the same squad as last year minus Mitro and Mitro missed 10 games. Having said that Leicester and others have illustrated the danger of standing still while the rest progress.
We were pretty fucking poor against Luton, but surely there are 3 sides worse than Fulham. Still, I thought that last time we were relegated too. I think it's going to be an anxious season for Fulham fans.
Summers going to be tough. Relacing Palhinha, Mitro, Silva, Tete, Willian. Who else?
