Had their chances
Sweden the better team over the 90 mins
-
Well I'm not believing any analyst now.
I'd been convinced that Japan would win the lot.

Geez soccer is such a lottery. Such a difficulty in actually scoring.
-
Had a 9-game predicting streak
Thanks Japan
-
The upside of Sweden progressing is we'll have a new name on the cup

Japan had been very impressive but got outmuscled in the midfield by the Swedes for most of the game. Therefore the key Japanese players weren't that influential. It was only when Sweden started to tire that Japan looked dangerous.

From the stands that is how I saw it as well. Sweden had a great game plan, bullied the smaller Japanese players and dominated the first half. And played some good football not seen by them in the tournament to date.
Japan did keep battling and slowly got on top at 2-0 down and were a bit unlucky with the penalty miss. Sweden worthy winners.

Aussies certainly had their opportunities. Just lacked the finishing touch.

The 19yo French girl (#23) has brought a real spark off the bench.

Cracking match
Extra time here we come
Think France will sneak this
Australia could have and should have finished it in regulation time
-
Couldn't we have gone straight to penalties?
Would have saved 2 hours.

An even game, but something of a stalemate.
