FIFA Women's World Cup

@canefan Germany looked clueless at the start and not surprising Korea scored.
They've grown into the game and dominating possession, while looking a bit ponderous.Probably deserved to be all square, but you could easily see the Koreans pouncing on a loose pass at the back, while Germany are playing among themselves.
If the Germans start winning a few corners they might be able to use their size to do what Sweden did to Italy.

Morocco score just before half time to go 1-0 up
At this stage Germany are out
That should light a fire under them. Like the US before them though, Germany are struggling to dominate possession and aren't creating a lot of quality chances out of it, so far anyway. Another team lacking cutting edge

Germany out

Germans will be gutted.
Beat Morocco 6-0, but the Colombians and Koreans have conspired to thwart them by conceding 6 points to Morocco and only allowing the Germans 1.
Another superpower who failed to break down a lesser team that packed tight in defence. Popp let no one down. But where was the pace? Where was the trickery and skill on the ball? Lacking

@canefan Yeah - I thought they should have been trying to force more corners all through the second half. Get more dangerous aerial balls in.
That's all they had. And yet there was far too much lateral and backward passing. Until Lohmann came on, I barely remember a daring attacking run at goal.
Ironic that NZ and Germany were both undone by VAR and a lack of cutting edge

Great for the tournament
