Rebs need to beat Drua in Fiji, the Brumbies need to beat Force in Perth in addition to Saders getting win against MP.

That's almost the criteria for the Saders to make the 8.

Rebels need to beat the Drua, Brumbies beat the Force, Saders beat MP.

While mathematically still possible, not that likely. If we finish with a big win, we could very well have the firepower to get another title.

It's one thing to make the 8. It's another to win 3 away games in the playoffs post Razor/Mo'unga/Whitelock etc

I don't think Crusaders have won 1 away game all season

I almost want to miss out. Going up to Auckland, against a blues team that will be fired up by being top dog in the playoffs, the recent loss and last year's hammering in the playoffs could be a recipe for one of our biggest losses. Still, I'll keep dreaming about a sudden form change and an insane run to the 8peat.

Just hoping we finish strong, now it is time to prepare for next year. Cannot see Rebs getting up in Fiji. Kind of have this feeling this campaign has been a kind of rest home for some of the Crusaders vying for higher honours. A lot will be fresh and uninjured and firing for Razor.

@Chris-B i have to disagree, i thought Reihana performed better than Havilli given each othwrs experiences. He just needs more game time, should do good over npc season

    Rob keeps the run going.

Unbeaten in the play-offs for the eighth consecutive year!

    Fabulous stuff!

@Landers92 It's all I've heard all week down in the garden city haha.

The Rebels were never gonna last playing at a high speed early on and were spent by halftime. They did well to only lose by 21.

Who goes ahead of who between the Rebels and Drua?

That was never going to happen.
Drua were always going to win this game in Fiji.
For me I am glad we didn’t make it,
It will start a real look at things at the Crusaders, coaching, retention, recruitment it will only strengthen them in the long run.
a kick in the arse can work wonders for the future.

It’s 1 down season after huge changes roster wise and coaching wise, multiple injuries too. Just one of those seasons that happens sometimes and you guys will bounce back well next season. It’s just more of a headline I believe as the media have lapped it up big time

@Chris Haha don't worry mate, you'll be back challenging next year no doubt, and this season was nothing more than a one off imo, but us opposition fans will enjoy it while it lasts haha (won't be long).

Looks like the Drua jump into 7th with the Rebels dropping to 8th.

    why?

Dynasties end - and they are hard to come back from. Is the quality there? I'm not convinced what will be different next year

There’s plenty of quality in that Crusaders team, you’re only kidding yourself if you think there isn’t. So many All Blacks and All Black XV players. For one reason or another it just didn’t gel this season, it happens.

The preseason jaunt to UK followed by Magicround in Mebourne and a game against the Drua in Fiji, weren't ideal starts. A number of results didn't go our way, where we lost narrowly. Next year is another campaign, needs to be a big review on this season. Some positives to draw on were winning the Under 20s Comp and blooding a number of newbies.

To me truth lies somewhere in the middle

Crusaders should be in the mix for the top 6 next season

But the days of dominating proceedings I think are done for now

Which is good for the comp. Crusaders become one of a number of contenders

Next year they still won't have Whitelock, Mo'unga and Razor.

I'll rephrase: how are they different to the 98 Blues who came off similar decades of dominance?

You asked if the quality was there and I just answered saying there is. Nobody doubts that and that’s why it’s all been such a headline this season.
