Not a huge fan of Uzzie, but that was his maiden test in England and having been in and around the side for over a decade now there was some relief, emotion and a bit of a up yours to all the Bazball talk. One man’s OTT celebration is another man’s “I deserve it” moment. Same could be said for the dismissal.

Was interested I a snippet I heard on some sort of radio news over the weekend where Uzzie made some comment about proving his worth after 10 years of playing test cricket.

Not sure what to make of it, but thought it didn't reflect well on his personal inferiority complex.

10 years of test cricket success (would be interested in his stats v what we NZers think are in the convo for greatest ever) and this is his apex?

He's been in and out of the side.
Told he couldn't handle the subcontinent.
Faced the fairly daunting challenge of being one of the few non white guys in the system.

First Ashes ton in England while watching others fall around you... Guess he feels like he's always proving himself.

For some guys that might be what keeps them going

Does Tubby understand how frames work?

Just because the frame didn't show it doesn't mean there wasn't a nick.

Lead of 157, five wickets down, very nicely balanced.

Englands 393 declaration currently looking fucking stupid as opposed to fucking inspired.

Basically currently 222 for 7. That's rather different to 272 for 7 assuming they got an extra 50 runs.

With tomorrow looking to be humid with a few rain delays, England need to bat as long as possible today, but only 3 wickets left..

Live odds: England 6/4, Draw 15/2 and Australia 5/6. They would be very very different at 272 for 7.

All out for 273. Aus need 280. Defo 50 short.

All depends on the weather tomorrow and how much Aus get done tonight. They'll want probably 130-150 runs at least tonight to beat the weather affected day.

107-3. Think Oz short 30 of where wanted to be, England short 1 wicket.

Anybody’s game, prob advantage Oz but conditions tomorrow could be decider.

So much for a shitty wicket unable to provide a decent game! Looking like a day 5, session 2 result wicket - nigh on perfect?

    Rain inbound! 🙂

Feels like a slight advantage to England with Warner, Labuschagne, and Smith back in the pavilion. But if Khawaja can bat all day again...

Maybe but there’s enough Australian batting to do the biz if they get it right but as someone has mentioned Starc would be a handy guy to have in that bottom order. Last three are a bit ordinary.
