@Duluth Tokyo would be good, think you would get crowds...but i also think we should be giving Japan a sniff of a super rugby team or entry into the RC
We gave them a SR team but they couldn't make it work....

Rejoice.
Don't ever rejoice when a good ref retires. Bloody hard to find them , and I hope he enjoys next step.

I think that Japan may work, but Tokyo itself would get saturated with that many games IMO.
I would say that three games in Tokyo, two in Kansai (Osaka), and 1 in Fukuoka would probably work OK.
If I were in charge, I'd have two games in Tokyo, two in Hong Kong, and two elsewhere (Singapore? Korea? US?).

don't think that was ever set up to succeed, maybe have the current champion of their domestic league play super rugby or something
fans celebrating are more likely to rock up the next season to see team they dont see every year

@Dan54 I'm rejoicing. He was poor IMO.
Ok didn't realise you were on a panel that had enough knowledge to judge refs. my apologies I not up to that standard of marking refs.
Imagine all the experts that made him an international ref when there were some who knew better. -

Does this retirement mean Mr. Bredin moves up one step in the pecking order?

I tend to agree about the Japanese champion idea. Clearly the Sunwolves didn't strike the right chord

Who is Mr Bredin. I assume if he does move up it will because he next best? Not sure he comes to my mind anyway. Lol mind you that neans nothing.

The companies have the money and sign the best players - the Sunwolves were a bastard child that was never funded to sign the best players.
The opportunity was missed when they revamped the competition to put five or six of the teams in a Japanese Super rugby pool.
