This is true.

The irony is that had the Rebels pipped the Drua, it might have been better finishing second over first so as to avoid the Crusaders.
Lining up to play Crusaders/Chiefs/Blues wouldn't be a great reward.
Blues would have expected Highlanders/Brumbies/Canes.

The Hurricanes had an average crowd of 14k this year which isn’t too bad. I wonder how that fairs against the other Kiwi sides.
I’m sure if we make the semi and the final the Tin will be close to a sell out for those games.
-
The Reds at $26 is a fucking decent shout actually.
Chiefs Kryptonite (shit we lost to them in Super TT that year in Townsville. FUCK Townsville). Have beaten us home and away.
Then probably the Hurricanes, who needed extra time to beat them.
Then either the Blues, who scored two late tries to beat them, or the Brumbies, who are an Aussie team.Yes, chances aren't that high, that's 3 big wins in a row, all on the road, but I'm sticking a bonus bet on it

Highlanders announced this morning about 75k people had attended games at Forsyth Barr this year so over the 6 games thats and average of 12500

The Crusaders average crowd attendance for the season was 12,600.
-
The Chiefs average crowd was 14,200

What was the Blues out of interest?
Only team that hasn’t posted. Will keep an eye out. I’d say they would of had the most though.
-
Highlanders should be stoked with 12.5k. Top result and shows the franchise is working hard to engage with fans. For a mid-table finish with a team of nobodies those are great numbers.

Last 3 were 22k, 15k, 26k
The Whangarei game was ~14k I think? Then there was two low crowds against Aussies sides and a goodish crowd in terrible conditions v the Crusaders

So, the issue then isn’t really crowds, its that most teams are in stadiums three times too big for most of the games.
I think averaging between 10k to 15K in NZ is killing it tbh.
but, you know, you need 35,000 seats or the NZRU won't chuck you an AB test maybe once a year

@mariner4life this ^
i'm assuming its worth it, that one game minus the extra cost to host
i cant help thinking filling a smaller one every week might generate more buzz and have a greater positive in the long run
