if anything was to come of it, surely it would have by now.

Surely with WR HQ in Dublin, thier influence over WR has surpassed what even we once had 😉

You’d have to think that Peyper would have put something in his match report but maybe downplayed as emotions at the end of a big game. Sexton will likely get away with a sternly worded email. Not even sure what they could do to a non player.
However, if it was a lack of evidence that held things back…..

@Crucial I can't find the article anymore, but I read last night that there is footage of him spewing "Your a f*cking disgrace" at Peyper, including the finger pointing. Apparently the powers that be are now considering that footage. The article also mentioned that Peyper had only heard part of what Sexton said, but they were now checking with his ARs to find out if they had heard it.

Captain of the No 1 side in the world, and you behave like that.

It also goes to show how critical Ref's interpretations are perceived to be by players that generates a reaction like that. And the reports seem to be that if anything Leinster got the rub of the green on the night ... so a properly unbalanced rant!

If that was park footy, you'd be getting 4-6 weeks/games

I've seen junior rugby coaches banned for 6 weeks for less

Would be a shame for World Rugby not to have its best players and stars at the RWC

Would be a disgrace for World Rugby to have this player at the RWC

If he misses out, and I don't think he will totally miss out, anything less than being stood down for the group phase would seem a weak move IMHO. And before the Irish fans complain, they should remember he did it to himself

I would like to see larger fines, for players and clubs (maybe make them a % of earnings)

Not sure this reflects well on anyone, WR included given how long it took to sort out

Weak punishment. Abuse of officials should be in the months, not weeks

A quick google shows that similar incidents in NZ club rugby are around 8 to 12 weeks

I see lots of gloating from Irish fans on FB. I hope they go down in a screaming heap at QF time

World Rugby's HQ is in Dublin so their decision was always going to be weak.
