You'd have to assume that the delay is due to injury concerns over a number of players who weren't involved in the two games against Aust.

New Zealand Under 20 squad named for the World Rugby U20 Championship

The New Zealand Under 20 squad has been named ahead of the World Rugby U20 Championship later this month. Head coach Clark Laidlaw and assistant coaches Marty Bourke and Wesley Clarke selected 30 players to head to South Africa, following two close games against the Junior Wallabies last week.

Unavailable due to injury:
Payton Spencer (Auckland), Fiti Sa (Taranaki), Maliu Niuafe (Auckland), Cody Nordstrom (Waikato), Toby Bell (Canterbury)

I am surprised that Essendon Tuitupou missed out, as I had thought he and Leo Gordon would be the midfielders (having also played for the Blues U20s and NZ U19s together).

The tight five will still be an issue. A year too early for a couple of them IMO.

A couple of the Chiefs U20 players (Cody Nordstrom, Fiti Sa) who were listed as injured, therefore not available for selection, are playing club rugby tomorrow, so their injuries can't have been too serious.
