Blues v Crusaders

About that grand final, I wonder if Romano was using a similar lineout calling system to his previous team? The throwing went off as the game went on but I thought the Crusaders knew where the ball was going from the start
The story from Ryan was that a non playing lock (injured, can't remember who) was tasked with analysing the Blues lineout for the comp and working out their system.

@Crucial I think the real story was that Luke Romano was sent to the Blues as a mole to leak the line out calls to the Crusaders come 'grand final' time......
Those Cantabs are good at that subterfuge. Look how long Deans got away with undermining the Wallabies
-
@Crucial And let's not forget about Romano doing his best to lose the semi for us against the Brumbies by not releasing the ball with a minute or so left. Sadly that night, Ben O'Keeffe had money on the Blues and refused to blow a penalty so his mission failed that night.
-
Who’s Romano? I thought it was Romero
On the lineout from last years final, I think a number of things went wrong for the Blues - hesitant throwing, poor timing on the lift. Trying to throw over instead of in front, lack of variation. And as we know once you miss a couple the yips start to settle in with the added pressure of a final.

You look at the tight five and think, wow the Crusaders by a thousand....then you look at the backs and think, wow Blues by a thousand! Interesting game!
-
@Old-Samurai-Jack Yeah - tough one to call. Both teams pretty compromised.
Unfortunately, it's almost certainly going to be a fine night, which makes it harder to starve the Blues backs.
McLeod, Ennor and Burke need to have big games.
Not a good look for Fihaki not making the 23 for this game.

The forwards make it possible to win a game. The backs decide by how much.

ozzie tautological rubbish.
I am not sure if you said the same thing twice or the same thing thrice.

What's your claim then?

Seems to be lots of talk about last years GF, is that girl friend, gluten free? Dunno.
Anyway what is interesting is this game is a repeat of last year's final, surprised no one has pointed that out yet
Thank you.
Can't stand that Aussie thing of Final/Grand Final.
Final means final. Not decide who plays next week.
And then there's the stupidity of 'Finale'.
That reminds me. The GOM thread needs some new additions.....

That's absolutely horrendous if true.
Traditional rivals - good weather - mid-March (so not too early) - kids going free. Blues starting the season relatively well.
That should have alarm bells ringing at NZR (and RA).

remember that excludes season ticket holders, and walkup crowds (which Auckland is notorious for)
I suspect 15k sales on the night

I'm down at the game there is a hell of a lot more than 5,000. Looks like a great turn out for a game this big.
