Blues v Crusaders

Our homegrown refs are bad
-
Whitelock has played a full 80 minute blinder today 👌🏻
-
@Canes4life not sure how he could not see the knee there.
Some great rugby, some dicey calls and some dumb decisions by players that shouold know better
-
Ok another proper cracker game, GEEZ!

Blues robbed really.
Clearly on the ground...

Other than O'Keefe, they're as bad as the dross from across the ditch. New Zealand as a rule in the last decade promote the most incompetent clowns as referees.

Does anyone think Razor is brilliant coach if the best he can do is this result?
Exactly. How does this prove Razor is some super coach?
Someone was labelling the Crusaders a bunch of journeymen earlier. So probably not too bad.
-
Kiwi refs are gonna bite the ABs in the arse again this year.
Crusaders only refereed half the game and given oodles of leeway when they are.
It's evident when they then struggle under other refs and come international time when they're miles off the pace and ill disciplined.
-
@Canes4life you could say the same thing if you took Whitelock out of the All Blacks
-
Leon needs to go. Christie and Beauden can follow him before the door slams shut.

100%
-
Heem better that RTS who still misses too many tackles. Not sure why they didn’t start with Robinson.

On the face of this question, I'd be inclined to reflect on his record in knock out rugby and conclude it's not the best he can do.
-
Great game. Best I’ve seen in ages. Nice to feel a little hope and disappointment in a Super game, just like the old days.
-
Crusaders will be happy 6 front line players out
Especially after last week, fuck the Blues had 100 chances to win that and couldn’t.
BB was playing for the Crusaders I reckon.
Yeah every one blames the ref but he penalised the shit out of the Crusaders, every time we win the ref is to blame maybe get better is the answer.
Apparanty the Crusaders win nothing on their own.
Get in there the Crusaders. -

That's fine, as long as we recognise the drop in quality of SR.
-
Great game ..Crusaders without Jordon ,Goodhue,Havilli,Grace and Newall get the job done ..and then they bring on 3 new guys
Sam Whitelock was colossal..!
Ethan Blackadder a work horse
Hoskins Soututu adding consistency in performanceScott Barrett a real concern with discipline
Beauden Barrett doing my headGood teams will take their chances and ride their luck with the officiating
Best game in a very long time -
Tucker and Suafoa both had good games around the field. The injuries at lock are helping to build depth there. The lineout overall wasn't too bad either (Blues lineout 81% Crusaders 62%)
-
@Chris No complaints from me ,Blues had their chances
Saders showing what champion team they are -

I guess you don’t need to be a world beating super coach to get the AB gig, just ask [insert several names]…
Good close game, but man we were sloppy as in that second half. Plenty to work on in terms of improving our continuity of play.
Dallas McLeod definitely worth keeping at 2nd 5.

4 points mate,6 ABs out that will do.
McLeod had his best game in a Crusaders jersey. -

Yeah don’t worry about the Ref just get better.

It's not mutually exclusive.
-
I blame Beauden for that loss, too many times in that game the Blues had the Crusaders back pedaling and he kicks it away.
Some really brainless stuff from Beauden. RUN IT SON!

Best game in a very long timeAgree Steve. Great game. Lots of guys playing well.
Scott was around the ruck when Crusaders were penalised but generally it wasn’t him infringing. His work rate is so big he is bound to get a few. One of my favourite players because he always turns up.
-
Took a few weeks but finally saw some cracking defense.
-
Best two players on the park for me were Blackadder and Whitelock, no nonsense from them tonight. The really showed how to boss it in the big games.

Good sauce!
@Steven-Harris said in Blues v Crusaders:
@KiwiMurph looks more like 10-12 gaps all around the stadium
There was clearly over 20k there. The offical figure of 24k seemed right
-
Watched on my phone while focusing on the Warriors
Two things
Crusader have some fucking ticker aye?
Hoskins Sotutu is really good at football. Can he play 6?
Wait, 3
Does Beauden think he's playing for the Carlton Blues?
One team was down on talent but big on heart. The other had talent but lacked brains.
-
@Canes4life I think MaCloud was right up there to, completely outplayed Roger. I really don’t think Roger is a union mid fielder, he should be at fullback or head back to the Warriors.
-
@antipodean 6 titles in a row probably does…

I'll ignore the one sided comment because people get pissy about that. However there's no way a ref from any other country calls the breakdown like Doleman did. It's terrible preparation for our players
-
@Duluth I mean it's pretty easy to call it one sided when you line up the Lay and Christie incidents next to each other.
But yeah I don't have a "thing" against the saders, more a thing against kiwi refs combined with the saders. It doesn't do anyone any good (well maybe Robertson).
-
@Stag said in Blues v Crusaders:

No disrespect intended to the Crusaders, their coaching staff or the supporters, but doesn't that alone say something about the standard of the competition?

The ref definitely seemed well out of his depth. The ABs have also made a habit of not playing to the ref lately and you're right, that sort of performance doesn't do our players any favours. Not sure what's going on with the quality of reffing in NZ, just seems really poor at the moment.

I'm talking about since the pandemic pretty much. Who was the ref against the Drua?
-
@Duluth that was from earlier in the week
