Thursday night went as per ladder position

The Roosters had a dig but they are levels below the Broncos and were slapped. The scoreline looks bad as it is, let alone if you add the try that was incorrectly taken off Staggs, and the one where the ref made the tackle right in the line.

Storm v Parra tonight is huge for both teams seasons

@mariner4life Things have gone really stale at the Roosters. They need a bit of a clean out truth be told, with some guys being kept on way too long. Yes, they did have a dig last night, but Brisbane were more than up for it and just ran over the top of them, with Carrigan and Haas constantly punching holes through their defence.

    Huge problems in the spine

    Tedesco is cooked
Keary isn't good enough to lead the side
I don't know who the other half is
Cheese is another in the long line of bad big money transfers from Melbourne. He's a shit hooker.

They also need good edge forwards, and Radley has regressed. They need a huge roster overhaul.

Plenty of space in the salary sombrero.

@mariner4life Two other guys that should have been moved on a couple of years ago, Tupou and JWH have somehow managed to get 2 year extensions.

They're still living in 2019, where they had one of the best modern day halves guiding them to back to back premierships. It's gone downhill a bit since he retired, but don't seem to be doing the right things to fix it.

lol what? in my mind he's the best winger in the comp, especially for the $400k they are paying him. Makes huge yards from the back, and plays the ball fast, both important traits in the modern NRL. Still the best aerial winger in the comp. And is solid defensively.

For comparison, we are paying Dellin $800k, twice the price. I know which i want.

JWH should be a bench impact player at best. He's good for a dumb fucking penalty every half as he tries to prove how tough he is. Not gonna work Jared, i still remember you absolutely disappearing when Ben Teo decided to take apart your pack one day, and you didn't want a fucking bar of it.

The dispute between the NRL and the players association is quickly escalating. Clint Newton is a massive piston wristed gibbon. He has been well taught by Australian union leaders. As a whole union movements in Australia have significant form in getting nasty. The best example in NZ was the recent firefighter strike led by Wattie Watson who spent a lot of time in Australia. Their union organisations are really good at pushing narratives. So far they have put the media ban on, covered up the logo. Now there are rumours around changing kick off times to mess with media schedules. From a Warriors perspective this is ghastly for their fans. It would be interesting to see what the level of actual support is across all players. It is likely to get a lot more nasty over the coming weeks.

@mariner4life I did rate him, but I'm the opposite to you haha, I think he's been on the slide in recent years, and I don't believe for a second that he is on 400k haha. Hard to criticise the warriors for paying overs and not really a fair comparison when you have to fill 95% of your salary cap and they struggle to attract players on NZ. It's something I hate about the cap, as it really punishes the weaker sides.

2014 gf qualifier? Yeah Te'o murdered him and the whole Roosters pack that night. JWH has always been a bully, loves to dish it out but then packs a sad when someone doesn't back down to him.

My new favourite game is spotting which players don't have the tape over the NRL logo. Tonight it is DCE in his 300th game.

Such a stupid protest. As if anyone watching doesn't know it's the NRL.

When we do a review of the season, who gets the vote for biggest disappointment? The Roosters or The Sharks? Both teams got flogged this weekend, and Cronulla are a big shout of falling out of the 8 by the end of the year.

Stupid Cowboys only needed to beat the Titans and they would have been 5th!

Absolutely given the roster they had assembled legitimately or under the sombrero have to be the biggest disappointment. May also be influenced by my pre season predictions lol

Sharks sure disappointing just not to the extent of the roosters.

4-5 weeks ago after a certain drubbing by the Tigers of all teams. The cowboys were certainly in the mix at the half way stage, luckily apart from the weekend they have turned a corner

@bayimports Love how the media give them a free pass as well, whilst criticising the usual suspects the Tigers and Dragons who are just living up to expectations anyway.

Couldn't happen to a nicer team seeingthe Roosters struggle.

i just went back and read the first 3 pages. Fuck we were all miiiiles off. And yes, we all had the Roosters at the pointy end.

Even the Rd 1 Warriors hot takes have aged like milk and we started off winning!

    Mid-week NRL news

The Cowboys rolled the dice on getting Holmes off and it didn't work. They effectively gambled on the final round game against the Panthers so in my eyes the risk/return was worth it. By all accounts it was a shocking attempt at a defense though.

Gus Gould continues to try to turn the Bulldogs in to the Panthers. Not be developing from the ground up, but by signing all their players. They've now got Salmon coming next year (weak gutted Bulldog person) joining Crichton. They also signed Taafe from Souths. Back ups galore. And they are rumoured to be trying to get the Panthers' back up halfback.
The Dogs could very easily be up there in the "disappointment of the year" stakes given the hype around their new coach and their signings.

I would support this if the Roosters hadn't self imploded. I had them as my smokey to make the eight, based on money spent and reputation of Ciraldo.

yeah they aren't a patch on teh Roosters (or the Sharks)

but the fact is everyone expected improvement and they are 7-13 with the worst F/A in the league.
