Championship Final Lone Star Cup
United Matamata Sports 44 University 13Any info on the story behind the late change in the Championship final? Fraser Tech beat Varsity in the SF but were then replaced for the final.

@mikedogz that had to be the most insane finish ever , Karaka lead with 3 minutes to go 24-13 , and then Manurewa just go bang ,bang and the conversion from mid the 22 goes between the sticks 24-25 .
Well worth a look especially the last 5 minutes which on the CM Facebook site .
A lesson in how not to close a game out -
Putaruru challenge Melville for a spot in the Premier grade next year. Putaruru were bottom five of Division one two years ago so they have improved heaps.
My club Te Rapa host the Division two final with Marist against the HOB Guzzlers. My prezzies game is the curtain raiser with us defending our trophy against Suburbs.

Community rugby participation in New Zealand has continued its post-pandemic recovery, spurred by the growth of women and girls’ rugby.
NZR has today confirmed 147,434 players for the 2023 season, an increase of 7% on 2022, with women and girls’ participation up 20% to 29,448 participants.
Teenage participation grew 11% to 34,173 players, community coach registrations increased 4% to 9,242 and referees by 8% to 1,564.
NZR General Manager Community Rugby Steve Lancaster said the results were pleasing given it was the first uninterrupted rugby season since the global pandemic began in 2020.
