Appalling runout there. That's Inzamam level stuff.
Bavuma in runout shock.... not.
Guy is fucking awful. Turned blind and then left his partner stranded.
The earlier runout was also terrible stuff.
He would have made it easily if he just ran.

They look like a lazy, disinterested, leaderless bunch. I expected more, but will take thrashing them as compensation.
When did SA become such bunnies?
7 innings without 200, and soon to be 8 innings.

Yet, last time they got over 200, they pantsed the poms

well the bowlers are filling their boots and padding their averages
the batsmen haven't needed to.

Given Bavuma has managed to notch up more than 50 tests with a single ton and an average in the low 30s, they've been shit for a while now. NZ dropping a test to them at home was almost as embarrassing as dropping a test to the Bangles.
I wonder why their team is so poor now though. You'd think a country their size would have some talent coming through, even if a bunch of their players play for other nations.

I realise they're just in a rebuild right now but a few of those guys would struggle to compete at domestic level in many nations. Very ordinary attitude. Doesn't look like their back office is right if they don't even have a fulltime analyst.

Carey is such an enormous upgrade on Paine
(incidentally, where does a bog average cricketer with 35 tests get the unmitigated gall to release a book?)
All the more reason to get a book deal these days.
Average cricketer that could keep a bit. Made captain in controversial circumstances and not seen as a clear successor even from his most ardent fans. Struggled to stake his claim on the game, team struggles, constant whispers around camp of players “more deserving” being unhappy, and then throw in a sex scandal.
Will be in the $4.99 shelf of all good bookstores near you

Agar has never looked like a Test bowler. Although the Saffa’s will probably make him look good if he plays
Renshaw might return after a few years out of the side. Thought Handscomb would’ve been a better pick because he’d be useful on the upcoming Indian tour

Makes you feel sorry for Bancroft getting shat on for Sandpapergate.

And so the reason for the intensive, summer-long redemption of David Warner PR campaign is revealed.
He's getting a commentary gig on Fox Sports. As if you needed another reason to watch the Ch7 coverage over the Fox coverage.
Oh, and CA signed a big new broadcast deal.

cynically, any link to the ongoing coverup of the rest of the team involved in Sandpapergate? Or am I just being too pessimistic

Another Sydney Test where the series is decided, but the advantage of the World Test Championship is that plenty remains at stake. For Australia they can, barring points deductions, secure a place in June's final with victory at the SCG while South Africa need to win to keep their now slim hopes alive.
