Pretty solid. Makeup of the bench will be crucial, as we discovered last weekend

That last 10 minutes will benefit the ABs next year. What a shock.
    The forwards were brilliant.

The big work ons I reckon are:

    1. Richie M - Jordie applying pressure by kicking long at times
    2. Cut out the dinky high risk defensive chip kicks
    3. Backline defence.
    4. Giving Jordan game time at 15
    5. BB impact sub

I'll tell you who else has the attributes they're apparently looking for and who might get a run at 6 now that Matera is gone - is Mitch Dunshea.

When we he get the chance with the Saders squad as it is?

Cullen Grace would have to be the man to get the opportunity, can play at 6/8 and can kind of cover lock in a super pinch (WC squad).

I'm interested to see how Ah Kuoi goes at 6 at SR level. He's a similar size to S Barrett and probably more mobile.

@gt12 I think the Saders could easily do similar to what they did last year, with Blackadder first choice 7 and Grace first choice 8.

Gardiner and Dunshea could share duties at 6 now Matera is gone.

That's true, but with Gardiner, Lio Willie, and Christie there (moving Blackadder across), I can't see Dunshea getting any time at 6 unless it's an emergency, they'd be more likely to move Barrett.

It should be pretty much guaranteed now that Dunshea runs out at 6 in the opening game 🙂

@gt12 yeah, lio willie would have been firmly in the frame to alternate with frizell so will be disappointed for him if he doesnt get games for the saders

@gt12 I think Mitch might only be fifth in the lock pecking order, so he might have time on his hands.

I'd like to see him get time at 6 (or 8). First time I paid him much attention was when he played 8 for the selection team vs the B&I Lions and he had a storming game.

I thought that would be where his future was, but so far, apparently not.

This is a bit of a shit thing to say, but I'd have a good laugh.

You would think that he would be guaranteed time off the bench at least for the Landers, and starting if injured, but he bolted to sit on the bench or sometimes not be in the 23.

On the other hand, if they use Blackadder at 7, I guess it is between him and Gardiner for the 6 jersey, so maybe that is a much better chance and you play with/at the Saders which must be better development.

@gt12 not sure whats shit about it, kind of think we're saying similar things, i dont think hes going to be first choice six...but i will be disappointed for him and his development if he passed up starts/gametime and doesn;t get time on the pitch

It's shit because I'll laugh at him sitting in the stands if that happens, which makes me a right fluffybunny, rather than a fan (I have a soft spot for the Landers unless they are playing the Chiefs, then fuck em).

It will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

I can see your thinking Mitch is that sort of Barrett player who can play 6 he is athletic enough to do a good job there.

If Scott is rested a bit through SR chances will come up.
But Gardiners form in the NPC and AB Xv
Makes me think if Blackadder goes to 7 which is a real possibility then Gardiner will get the 6 spot.
