Our % sucks so given how tight the points are, we aren't in a strong position. 
Out draw isn't too bad but even if we win 4/6 which I think is doable, we will be relying on other results in our favour.

I don't think your list is mature enough to win 5 of those, but the great thing for Saints supporters is they can go to the footy with an attitude they can win any of those games, and an expectation of winning 3 of them. That's a great thing.

Yeah we are in that good phase of development where promise is high but expectations aren't over the top and every win is "great". 
Whereas the likes of Richmond and Collingwood still expect things that simply aren't a reality when a proper inspection of where their list is really at.

Went to my first ever game tonight. Tigers v Hawks. Surprised how much I enjoyed it despite the 50 odd point thrashing. Would be good to see two quality sides go head to head. Was a masterclass by the hawks in the 2nd half.

Pretty clear demarcation between the top 8 and the also-rans this year. I don't recall a 3 win gap being the difference with five full rounds to go ever before. The Dees can go to 8 wins this afternoon but will still be 4 wins out of the 8, so even if they win every game from now on - highly unlikely - they'd still need to rely on St Kilda, Port and at least one top 8 team having worse runs home. So we're gone now barring a miracle finish to the season.

That's an embarrassing loss for the Tigers, but at least they didn't ship 170+ points at home to a team not even in the 8. The Lions have to do something different, using the "youngest list" excuse every week is not acceptable. 
 
I think only a side from the top 4 can win the flag now, and i think we are heading for a Sydney v Hawthorn GF

Richmonds recruitment policy during the compromised draft , has come back to bite them on the arse , the players they picked up just before that time , Dusty, Cotchin , Deledio , Rance and Riewoldt are all class, They tried to finish the rebuild with the scraps left after GWS and Gold coast took the cream , under the normal draft , some of those first early picks that gold coast got would have gone to richmond , and they would be looking at a different list now, they picked a bad time to bottom out , time to start again ?

Yeah we snuck in a late one to top the GC yesterday Mariner. First game in a while I've managed to see any of, too.
 
If we continue at the same rate of improvement then yeah, I'd love to think we'll be in the mix this time next year. Problem is, I don't know how much of an impact losing Roos will make, and if the maturing list will be enough to counter that and find further improvement.
