Ireland keep it vaguely Interesting.
But not really.
46 off 19.
-
44 off 18
-
At least they reduced their NRR

This is the dumbest finish I've seen in a long while. 4 dots and a wicket then they take a single off the last ball to keep the #11 on strike and leave the bloke who's scored > 50% of the teams runs stranded at the other end.
Then you run yourself out to end the game

Yep. Dumb single at the end of the 17th.
Happy that they clawed back the RR

A World Cup where the finalists will likely be decided by weather.

It is cricket. Has always been so.

Crunched some quick numbers earlier.
And at worst, with the exception of Ireland and Afganistan both winning both their matches (and we lose to England), NZ will be 2nd equal in the pool and it will come down to NRR to determine if NZ advance.
BTW if AFG and IRE do win both they go to 6 and 7 points (or maybe 7 and 6 can't remeber). We stay on 5 (if we lose to ENG). Probably reasonable odds available on that.
Yeah. So I was completely wrong about that.
Entirely possible both Aus win v Afg and Eng win their last two (us & SL ) and end up on 7pts.
Then anything other than a win v IRE leaves us short of 7.
Afg can get to 6 as well.
Way too many ways to miss the cut.

My thoughts exactly. Bizarre.
It wasn't likely that they could chase down 40 odd off the last 3, but if ever there was a time to turn down a single it was on the last ball of the 16th over. It's not impossible for a player on 70 to have three good overs of hitting.

Helluva chase so far from the Bangles
Man they probably should’ve won that. That flurry of 3 quick wickets on sky balls was the difference. The Bangles batting before the rain was some of the best of the tournament.

What a T20 innings. Had everything.
Big hitting, bowlers on top for a period, dropped catches, quick 50s, quick wickets.
Great crowd atmosphere when Pakistan are scoring.

Yeah, what an awesome innings.
Decent start for Pakistan in the field too! 1 for 1 after 1.
-
Big wicket for Pakistan. Bavuma gone for 36 with a SR of 190. He was really heating up too.
-
Bang. Now Markram gone.
Spin to win!
-
They continue to play through the light rain.
Proteas we’re exactly on track with the DLS after 6.2 overs, but have now fallen way behind 2 overs later.

Chaotic scenes as 5 needed off last ball results in a stumping. Players shake hands and walk off.
3rd umpire rules keeper took ball in front of the stumps so its a no ball. 4 needed off 1 ball. Free hit.
Sorry to quote myself, but I wonder if that should really have been a no-ball? Forgetting what the laws say.
Surely it would be enough to say that the stumping is disallowed without saying that it is a no-ball as well?
