Got a quick mention on Get On when they did there previews for Flemington. From memory just said had been specced in the market after a good run 2nd up and should be at peak fitness for this. They all liked Creedence and Plein Ciel (which I really like as a horse but just cant catch its form ffs....if i back it, its shite, if I skip it, it wins...best I back it for Polly's sake)
Yes, best you do!

Polly in to single figures
Punters have it in their best 4
And Hutchy has it as his 2nd pick

I've tossed my $30 bonus bet on her for the place at $2.60.

A run of some merit there

She started well and Damien was positive to try to hold a position but was trapped wide so came a pair back to slot in to a position one off the fence with cover. As the tempo eased she got a bit keen and was fighting Damien. She got shuffled even further back when checking off heels to be near last as they straightened for home. Damien encouraged her through her gears and she was strong to improve all the way to the line. Damien commented that she just got too fired up when he tried to hold a position closer to the speed, which didn't help when the tempo eased, but that she did a great job and was strong to the line and is ready to win soon. She just had no luck at all, for a big horse she just got bottled up at the wrong time of the race and couldn't work her way into the clear until the race was over. Even then she didn't have a lot of clear running. To me she looked like she got the 2000m without any problems so there is a similar race in two weeks at Moonee Valley where obviously she will be hard to beat based on the fact that she didn't get fully tested today.

Yeah I thought she looked very good out there and finished well. Handled the distance fine based on that.
Wouldn’t have thought moonee valley would suit her too well so will be interesting to see how she goes if CW runs her there.
I had a ripper day on the punt. Cleaned up at Randwick playing the bias and had a big bet on man of peace ($5 winner)and another good one on madam legend ($8). Even got a winner at awapuni paying $17. Would have been bigger had I not cashed out a multi I had doubts about and then creedence won and only needed the bloody place!
-
I got a winner at Morphetville and a winner at Donald. And nothing else

@Hooroo Missed the race and only seen the finish on a Facebook video.
It's notable how much ground she makes up on the horses that came second and third - just coming from too far back to make it count.
Too right.
That race solidified our thoughts on if she should be there or not. She can definitely compete but just needs clear air.
Keep your money on her, I reckon.
Turret and Sussex (Paddock names of Fifi and Betty) racing this Saturday, I think.

That's exactly why I'm not sure moonee Valley will be very well suited for her. I think tracks like Flemington with a bit more space are key.
However, I thought the same with Plein Ciel which is a big horse and typically needs a bit of room to wind up coming home, and it won at MV last month when I didnt think it would be suited at all. Worth noting is its usually off pace or a back marker and in that race they changed tactics and pushed forward to sit only one back at the turn

the last meeting at MV nearly all races were won by swoopers which is not something you usually see there. So she's a chance.
Just don't get caught on the rail or you are fuuuucked

Look, I completely understand that I am biased towards this horse but how the hell does Polly get up for 5th after running like this!!
This stewards vision shows it perfectly. All the horses are running balanced and quiet and Polly is all over the place, trips twice after running up the back of a horse and gets back to last and still gets fifth after all that extra work she has done, over-racing, over 2000 metres!
Swooon!
Load up next time lads!
