Ol' mate Ben Currie seems to be in further bother.
Is he the dude from Toowoomba who trained my big winner of Golden Slipper day?
The more i am hearing about Weir, the worse it seems.
That's the fella. And yep, seems like we're far from at the end of the Weir saga.

That mr Macau won again in Brisbane on the weekend, he must still be keeping the doses up.

Dipping my toe in to ownership...
Iβve done the same this year.... itβs great fun. Have taken the wife out a couple of times to meet the 3 horses we own a very small share in. It surprised me how friendly they are, and how accessible the trainers etc are for my stupid questions. They pretty much said we are welcome at the stables any time, just call and let them know when we are coming.

That's awesome news.
SammyC What are your horses? Standardbred or Thoroughbred?
I know Mariner is going into a Thoroughbred. Have you purchased yet?
Tell us more!
We have Solomon running today at Hastings. He is there for match fitness more than anything else as he is 8 weeks between runs due to small hiccups.
Polly Grey Will be racing again soon and Sussex has her first jump-out on Friday which I am looking forward to as she appears to be a nice enough Tavistock 3 year old.

Well we had our first option come through just now (way cheaper than that one i was hawking to you while a bit pissed), so the hunt is on! I'm pretty pumped to be honest

Mate, it is thrilling!!!! So what is the breeding of the one you have purchased? Are there sales on at the moment or is this a private purchase?

Private. Have a trainer scouring the land
Out of Sydney, no good in the metro, mum did alright though
It's the first one we have looked at, so no guarantees (haven't bought yet mate, but it'll probably happen in the next week or so).

Stoked for you! It's such a buzz when your horse runs, let alone wins.
Even though I don't hold much hope for Solomon today, I am still amped for the run. I will still back him too.

one of the guys already has one, and even though we know it's not going to win, we still back it every single time. When it did win it was awesome, and it's not even my horse!

Harness Racing Mate you probably look down on that kind of stuff in the North Island (and justifiably so).
I'm well aware of how rigged it is, but it's not a huge amount of money, and it's just a bit of fun for me.
Our horses are 2 year olds at the moment, so not racing yet. That should happen next season.

There are 3 horses in the syndicate... 2 are looking likely at this stage.

My folks breed and train Standardbreds so I would be a hypocrite to look down on it. They bred Better Cover Lover which was a nice wee filly.
They have a 2 year old trotter (I think, maybe a pacer) that is looking quality so I hope it goes as well as it trains.
Let us know when you have your first starter, as I love to support a horse that there is even the slightest interest link to
