Might need to change the name of this thread...seems people talking of their great tips once they have come in, instead of sharing before.
Sheesh, hold out cnuts.
Mate I usually place about 10 to 15 bets on a saturday. Usually need 5 or 6 to get up depending on odds to make a decent return. Happy to share my bets for the day each week but please dont expect to get rich
that's me, especially on a day like Saturday.
There is a horse running around on smaller tracks called Stealthy Lucas that has now won 3 in a row, all at late-teens, and I've been on it each time. It was my best bet on Saturday. Had another at 11s, Redzel at 9s, and a couple of others at 5 or 6. That's enough to make a good day. Missed Blair House at 13s by a fucking nostril.
Don't know how i missed Yucatan considering the odds and all the guys on the Racing Channel picked it.
Picked up a couple yesterday as well over a couple of beers.

Yeah I got it from racing.com too.
Stumbled on one yesterday called Benall at Cranbourne. Was doing my form and it stood out in that it was an older BM71 horse racing in a BM70 and paying $201. Had won 5 races in the past incl a BM 78 just 3 starts back and run 2nd in a BM84 not long before. Took it $5 ew as you dont need much at those odds and it ran 3rd at $41 the place. Ran a beaut 3rd!

yea i got on one at Cranbourne that started the day at $91 and started tumbling so i placed it at around 10 and it kept falling to about 5 for the place, and the fucking thing ran 3rd! Someone knew something

Spent the weekend trawling all the international runners' form (at least those who are at $51 or less on the NZ TAB market). As a result, I've decided the following:
- Muntahaa is a good place shot
- Red Verdon should give Ed Dunlop another shout for a competitive Melbourne Cup runner
- I was caught by Hamada's efforts in the UK, only to read on Saturday it fractured a leg in trackwork at Werribee and was later put down... so you can probably rule a line through it...
- Rostropovich could be the Aidan O'Brien pacemaker if it gets a start. Tends to lead in its races and gets keen early, but will probably be found out at a quicker pace.
- Idaho is working back to form after looking brilliant in the English spring before flattening out mid-year
- I was taken by Best Solution's run at Newmarket in July and he won in Germany in August. Might be my each-way money there as Godolphin looks to break its Melbourne Cup duck.
-
i love futures and find them a good use of bonus bets that are about to expire. My early melb cup runners are:
Avilius at $27
CIiffs of moher at $29
Magic circle at $24
Muntahaha at $33
Yucatan at $67
Kings will dream at $21 (probably unlikely)
Thomas Hobson at $67 (wont be running)Best result would be Yucatan as have 20 on it.
Probably wont place a bet on the day on a particular runner but will chuck out a couple of exotic pics and try snag some value.

Caulfield Cup tomorrow
Been a fan of Kings Will Dream since early this year and have had a little play at it in the futures @ $31. Now at around $6 and drawn well. Has been set for this and think should do well.
Youngstar a big danger. Looked great coming home behind winx a few weeks back.
Also have a something of cliffs of moher as I really rate this horse.
But now I'm getting keener and keener on Best Solution trained by Saeed Bin Suroor. Quality horse with a proven recond at distance. Will be interesting to see how it goes first up here but has a delivered after a break on most occasions. Has to lug the top weight but great value still at $16 and $4.50
Realistically there are probably about 8 horses I could make a case for. Looks a great caulfeild cup

@jk fuck just back the field mate!!
I was on Youngstar on a "Winx Out" market the other week, and was super impressed. Probably go that way.
So many internationals always makes the form hard to pick, but Best Solution looks pretty good value.

Even though it is our business, True-Love always looks at the Australian and NZ racing before making any hard plans on weekends. Hotels must have TAB Trackside too when away. It really is great having someone look after these important aspects of life.
Better still, often she prefers me elsewhere when racing is on so Golf is mostly a go on Saturdays!

i think i love her.
Last Saturday was awesome, the kids were roaming the neighbourhood, and Mrs Mariner was happy to watch trash TV inside and have a lazy arvo. So i sat on the couch outside and watched racing all day, drinking beer and punting. Fucking bliss.
I am wondering what my chances are of repeating tomorrow?

I can see why she is indeed True-Love!
My wife never really like horse racing or the punt but its grown on her given the extra luxuries that has been able to afford over the last year or two. Often asked how much is in the account and I give her an honest answer, I only give the balance from the lowest of my 4 accounts though!
But she use to roll the eyes when I said 'Oh need to watch this race' but now shes actually keen to watch any of the big races and any involving winx. Even during the Everest last week I could tell she was fizzing (on the inside anyway)

Tomorrows all planned for me...
Son has cricket in the morning which means I get to sit in the sun for a couple of hours doing form. Then wifes out from 12 til late and i'm at home with the kids. So BBQ, Beers and Racing!

Mrs Mariner has a passing interest only. She indulges me (and i don't bet enough to win big enough to do anything serious with the money), but if i am watching, she will be next to me checking out the Fashions on Instagram.
Now if we are going to the races? she is all in. New dress! New Hat! New Bag! New Shoes!! Leading up to the Cup season in Cairns there is a never ending procession of couriers arriving at our house. And this is why, if i suggest attending one of the big days down south, she is enthusiastically all in. Bless her.

nice!! i am going to try and do some landscaping work in the morning, so i am done and in front of the TV by lunchtime. Only problem with that is no time for form, or watching the preview shoes on the racing channel
