Been hitting Te rapa pretty hard this arvo. Some great races there
Picked up a nice $2.50 place on my old fav endean express and $3 place ok enough which I also think is another under rated horse. Plus a $4 winner on volkstoknbarrell which was money for jam in that field

Winx pretty dam impressive last night making it 14 in a row. Looked in amazing condition for a first up race. Didnt start super well but eased away nicely when it mattered. No bets placed, just enjoyed the spectacle.
I always Quinella Hartnel;l and Winx as it's near a sure thing. (Paid $2:70)
Watching the end of that race you have to feel sorry for the Hartnell connections. He was 4 lengths clear of the field running second. Any other time he would be a superstar but he arrived in the middle of Winx's glory!

Chipping Norton stakes on Saturday with Winx running again. $1.08 to win this time and $1.01 the place!!! Going for 15 in a row!
Also a good meet at Caulfield that arvo as well. Could be a good one for the punt
Someone's just plonked A$56K on Winx at that win quote (give or take a cent or two).
On the harness side of things, big night in Sydney on Saturday night with the Miracle Mile. Australasian record of 1.47.5 was set last year, and there's the potential for them to go even quicker, particularly with favourite Lazarus drawn 8 (will come into 6 with scratchings).

Not a huge harness fan, cant get past thinkin its rigged but quite interest in that meet. Ultimate Machete racing as well earlier in the night.
Was it Lennythesark that got up over Lazarus last weekend? I only caught the end of the race waiting for another one and think Lenny had gone out like a rocket and just couldnt be caught. Edit - actually I think that may have been Ultimate Machete I saw get beaten by someone, maybe Vincent??

Please don't believe EVERYTHING you read on Stuff. There have been some dodgy goings-on in country Victoria, but in the case of the Mark Purdon/Natalie Rasmussen juggernaut, it's better to sit back and be in awe of what will likely be the most dominant training operation in either code in any part of the world that you'll see in your life time.
Harness racing, by its very nature (smaller tracks, more laps), is more tactical, which can lead to that conclusion that races are ''planned'', but it's more about one driver working out if he can put his main rival into an awkward spot by handing up the lead at the appropriate time, for example.

Lennytheshark won his qualifier last week, but Lazarus wasn't racing, having already booked his spot with his Chariots Of Fire win a fortnight ago. The draw will certainly land Lenny handy, but I expect Lazarus to show plenty of gate speed - not quite enough to get across to the lead, but he'll be able to position handy. If Hectorjayjay finds a cushy spot (one out, one back perhaps), he could be the real danger.
Vincent has come along tremendously since NZ Cup week but ironically barrier 1 might not be ideal for him, as the gate speed is a bit of a mystery. Ultimate Machete has been a beast this season (since I saw him run a big second at Forbury Park in October), and I'll certainly be having him in my quaddie.

Yeah I hadnt actually based on my thoughts on anything I'd read. It was just feel from that 'tactical' nature you point out. It makes sense though.
Will watch those races for sure on Saturday night.
Hey what ever happened to that Chicago Bull? Havent seen around for a bit (like I said I dont follow Harness much) but recall seeing it last year a bit and it was pretty much unbeatable at the time. Odds were super short so never back but had a mate who kept sticking his account on it until one day...

There was an awful story on Stuff ''suggesting'' at race fixing being under investigation by NZ police. It didn't mention harness racing by name, but contacted the NZ harness trainers/drivers association for comment. Naturally, through the grapevine, names have got out, but all industry figures have denied any knowledge, and the Stuff follow-up earlier this week was the shittiest piece of non-journalism I've read in a long time - sadly, from a journalist I previously respected.

He's back at his best over in Western Australia - won the Fremantle & WA Pacing Cups for a tidy A$480K stakes in two nights' work.

@Hooroo I see Peaky Blinders is running this weekend...still worth a punt?
-
I used the last of my $$$ in my TAB account on Peaky, so at least I dont need to top up again for another couple of weeks...
COngrats to you both @Hooroo
