Probably because today is the most tedious day all year for absolute wounders who never bet all year randomly sliding into your DMs, asking for a tip in a 24-horse race (now 23, mind you) and then abuse you when your suggested selection runs a brave 4th after getting stuck 3-wide the trip, causing said wounder to lose their $5.
And then it happens all over again the following year.

@Smudge so who do I throw my $5 away on?
Always bet on 7 I reckon!
Easybet

If this keeps up I'll have something on half the field by the jump

The Cup is open as fuck. The rest of the races are pretty ordinary. Melbourne Cup day is a chance to get bent on a Tuesday.

100% You will need luck to win it and easy bet is a great way of doing it.

No.7 - Verry Elleegant. - won the Caulfield Cup well and is in my trifecta mix... for what that's worth.

Got '13 - Surprise Baby' in office sweep. Happy enough with that.
Cant complain about that. Any horse paying under $20 or so is good value in those office sweepstakes. If you get drawn a roughie (so above $20) make sure ya have a gold coin or two on it at the TAB too at its real odds just in case it wins and then you will get paid what ya deserve.

Can’t believe I had to search to find this thread... sad
Friends horse running tonight, trainer thinks it will go ok, owner reasonably confident, but running in the City doesn’t always go well and some good competition . Does have Berry on board though who could probably ride a rocking horse to victory on recent form.
Anyhoo Ranges, race 6 Canterbury, currently at $7/$2

Nice!
We have Solomon running in Race 5 Cromwell today. Can win. Can also come last. Bet with care. Should lead or be one off the lead.

@Hooroo good work my friend I’m going a multi 😀
-
@bayimports Right - I'm in - pretty conservatively, because I've given the TAB a rest for a few weeks after some wildly optimistic betting on fucking North Harbour!
Go Ranges.

For someone who doesn't really watch NH rugby, there seem like some strange relativities between the odds for these four matches....
England $1.10 Wales $6.40
NZ$1.11 Argentina $6.20
Hawkes Bay $1.11 Northland $5.95
France $1.12 Italy $5.55Wales must be really shit to be at worse odds than Italy.
With all due respect to Northland, I think I'd use Hawkes Bay as my banker ahead of the ABs this weekend.
