Thirteen horses in R7 Rosehill, and all the money is on two horses, and most of it on the 1 horse. Hard to see either getting beat, but I’ll take a small swing. Some of these prices are crazy.

Pipped on the line again. Jesus

Horrific day. Struggled since lockdown too!
Got that right, I flushed 120 down the shitter, but I do have a small desperation double in the last. The multi-races wagers are going to pay sweet. I tried taking some money from Funstar and Probabeel, just picked the wrong horse(s). Peculiar strategy from Probabeel today.

I talked myself out of that bet. I am in horrific form!

Cox Plate could be axed in centenary year as carnival chaos looms
Mooney Valley CEO: “If we find we are not racing on June 1 and if we find that horses are not in training on June 1 I would imagine it's going to be very difficult to be running a Cox Plate on October 24."

Good start to Randwick. Race 1, 2yos, gah! a pile of scratches; check the track, rated Heavy. Small field. Looked at the stats for ‘em all, selected the only two horses who’d placed on Heavy, $1 exacta (top n’ bottom so $2 total bet), paid $90 yesssss!!!

Nature Strip is the Perth Wildcats/Collingwood/Roosters of horse racing. I fucking hate that big cat of an animal

Talk abut spitting them out. That was some run and I had left him well alone.
I was on the eel and at the turn I thought I had it in the bag but the Bakers horse just kept on going. Super win.

I'm was in two comps. One where you have a mythical $10 EW on each race at Randwick and one where you get 4 points for a win down to 1 point for 4th but you could only choose JMac twice but got double points if you chose a horse with Sam Clipperton.
Was good fun to track during the day against the others. Doubled my money on the points version and didn't make top ten in the $10EW version.
Next up, it is the main meeting on Wednesday.

@mariner4life He’s the best sprinter down under right now, and Steve Hansen’s got a piece, so I’m happy to see him and Waller win.
I singled him in the 2nd leg of a P4 which allowed me to go wide and select ALL of Nettoyer, Star of the Seas and Brandenburg in the Doncaster (took em with Melody Belle and Super Seth). I also had Rubisaki in the 4th leg, meaning I hit the last three legs, but was dead after the first when I missed on Quick Thinker. What’s worse is that Nettoyer and Star of the Seas paid over $2300 on a $2 exacta bet; and the tri with Brandenburg paid $4,800 on a $0.20 cent wager. I shit you not.
I feel sick.

Quick Thinker was one of only 2 winners all day

B/c of corona, there are only two tracks racing Stateside on Tuesday, and the 2nd of these meets starts after the first one ends, right at 5pm EDT. The track is a dinky bullring in Nebraska called Fonner Park, but it’s the only game in the nation. Ordinarily nobody bets on it. But there’s a Pick 5 jackpot that is expected to exceed $2.5 million dollars — ending on a race with a total purse of $3,700. LOL. There could be punters holding tickets with payouts in the hundres-of-thousands of dollars sitting on jockeys who might make, what... $150-or-$200 if they win? Not often you see so much money bet on so little.

2nd race at Gulfstream, a 12.5K maiden claimer for three-year-olds. There’s a horse Silver Maker in his third start; was purchased as a yearling for usd$800K. He came 4th. Somebody put in a claim and bought him for the twelve-thousand.

Having a hard time handicapping the Sydney Cup here. The Chosen One (18-1), Yogi (40-1) and Etah James (20-1) are the three Kiwi-breds in the race. Etah James ran a pair of good staying routes at Ellerslie the past couple months, including a 4th in the Auckland Cup in his last... is he worth taking here today??

Yogi will break your heart

Track condition rated as Heavy. No rain in the forecast for Sydney today. They’ve had 25.2 mm precip the past week. How heavy is “Heavy”?

Yogi will break your heart
I’d already placed him in my “toss” column.
Are you telling me he’ll break my heart if I don’t play him?
-
@Salacious-Crumb said in Rough tips and other bets...:
Etah James ...
He’s got Glenn Boss and 51 Kg, the lightest weight. I’ll have to take him in my multi-race.
I do like several horses near the top, but they’re all carrying weight.
Te Akau Shark, Kolding, Veery Elleegent and Melody Belle are the NZers in the Queen Elizabeth. I think I’ll take all but Kolding and adding Addebbyb and Vow & Declare. Fve is more than enough. Betting against the Japanese import, hoping I don’t regret it. Ideally want to see Opie take it on the Shark, but I’d be delighted if any of the Kiwis win.
