I see Ben Footes filly, Travelling Light is lining up this weekend in Aussie after 4 weeks ago being spelled for going shin sore. That is usually 6 weeks in a paddock, no training.
Racing in an Aussie Group 1. Bizarre.
I must be talking more rubbish as I can't see her nominated anywhere.

Yeah Opie was very happy with the gallop. And they will be happy with the barrier too.
Some of the aussie Alligator Blood fans are getting a bit cocky. Lets hope the mighty mare can do it!
AB is a ripper, we all know that, and he towelled her up their last run. And it's Caulfield, where being at the front is a definite advantage. If she wins it will be huge.
Let's hope the forecast rain comes in.
I dont think those two have ever raced each other before have they?
No, they haven't. He towelled up Catalyst who had gone shin sore. (Which is strange given what he has achieved. They usually do that earlier)
my apologies, i thought she was in that race a few weeks ago. What was the one where she didn't really fire a shot, and came 3rd? Was that the Streets of Avalon G1?
That's the fucking problem with racing in this country now, too many big races with the same bloody horses in them, and they all kinda look the same.
Yeah that was the streets of avalon race on a day with the hugest of on pace biases. The run of MB was actually very good considering
Track was soft that day vs expected good this time but rail is still in same position at 6m out. We could get it again, especially if a bit of rain does come
edit - Actually it says it was a good track and rail out only 3m (which I dont think was right) so could be in for another shitstorm

This will have an effect across the racing world. The equine welfare efforts have gone through the roof recently in Aus & NZ, but this will raise fresh questions in this part of the world. Much like human athletes, the vets/integrity bodies seem to be a few steps behind the latest drugs seeping into racing.
One of the trainers the FBI nailed is Jason Servis — the trainer of Maximum Security, arguably the world’s best racehorse. I’d hate to think he was running on the juice, I love that horse, but now there’s got to be a cloud hanging over him. Bob Baffert, America’s No. 1 trainer, picks up the duties. He’ll probably lay him off and bring him back a hundred pounds lighter. If...
I wonder if he’ll ever race again.

Is he and entire or gelding?
-
Still entire, I believe.
According to Wiki, it's not good:
*Servis was indicted on federal charges related to the administration of performance enhancing drugs to his stable on March 9, 2020. Maximum Security was allegedly administered a designer drug, SGF-1000, "intended to promote tissue repair and increase a horse's stamina and endurance." The FBI intercepted a phone call where Servis indicted concern that Maximum Security would test positive after being administered the drug shortly before a random drug test on June 5, 2019. Servis was advised that there was "no test for it (SGF-1000) in America", but that the test might show a false positive for a different drug, "dex" (assumed to be Dexamethasone). A veterinarian subsequently agreed to alter Maximum Security's records to falsely show the horse was administered "dex".[29]
Because of the charges, some industry leaders have considered whether Maximum Security should be stripped of the Eclipse Award he won as a three-year-old, especially if subsequent testing reveals previously undetected drug positives.[30*
Edit:
The indictment specifically alleges that a designer, performance-enhancing substance was administered to Maximum Security in 2019, when he was named champion 3-year-old male.

Daily Racing Form:
Navarro, Servis, others arrested Monday face up to 10 years on federal conspiracy charges
[...]
A person who has experience in federal prosecutions of the nature outlined in the indictments who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to his position in the racing industry said that the information contained in the indictments – and the fact that many of the individuals on the other side of intercepted phone calls were unnamed – indicated that the investigation is still ongoing. According to the person, the federal government is likely to spend the next two weeks attempting to reach plea bargains with some individuals to provide testimony against others, including those not already indicted.
“This is just the starting point,” the person said. “This is going to get ugly. It really will.”

Maximum Security moved to Baffert's barn

Oneloveonelife debuting on Saturday for the other syndicate I'm involved with.
Tough ask for him as he's straight into a Group 3 race at Wyndham (R7) and up against some tidy Canterbury types (he's trained in Southland). Best case scenario would be for him to sneak into a placing after being saved for one run. He's at 21s and 3.30 which is entirely fair.

Caulfield to run without spectators or owners tomorrow.

@Hooroo I saw something earlier where they were claiming the owners were pulling her as all thier friends/family couldnt be there to watch?
Yeah I dont really know if they'd do that. Would be a ridiculous reaction really.

Melody into $4.40
Can still get north of $5 a few places with boost but as low was $4.20. The juicy $2 for the place is long gone.
If its not wet tomorrow and AB keeps drifting and gets out beyond $3 I could be tempted to have a good go at it. I think late money will come for it, well I did when there was gonna be people on track, not sure it will move quite the same now. Will be interesting to see

With so little sports on offer (read: pretty much SFA) maybe the horsies will draw some extra eyeballs this weekend. I’m going to look at the PPs at Rosehill and Caulfield. Might not bet, just watch.
Keeping my eye on PROBABEEL in the Phar Lap Stakes (R5 Rosehill) — Kerrin Mcevoy is up, Opie is away (see below) — and although I expect to see SILVIA’S MOTHER and POHUTUKAWA battling in the Coolmore Classic (R7 Rosehill), I might take a flyer on 40-1 OCEANEX .
Of course, most of my interest will be on Opie aboard MELODY BELLE taking on ALIGATOR BLOOD in the $5M All Star MIle (R7) at Caulfield.

The fields have scratchings, don’t see her listed as a scratch.
-
Nah there is no way they would have pulled AB.
The big issue was that the owners wife is terminally ill with cancer and this was supposed to be a big thing for him and her. Sounds like they are in a private room not on track but overlooking the track.

Regal Power and Superstorm look tantalyzing at 13-1. They gotta come down, shurely. I rate both good chances to win, probably take them Melody + Aligator + Kolding in my Pick 4. Deeper than I want, but it’s an excellent field. Probably throw in Fierce Impact as well, and really shorten it in the other three legs. I’ll have to if I want a wallet left, and there I went starting the weekend telling myself to hold off the wagering.
And geeze, can Streets of Avalon get an extra furlong? Looked mighty taking out the G1 Futurity wire-to-wire last start, 7 furlongs on the same course, lots of fight in that horse, and opening 51-1. I’ll pass but could look like a fool here.
