Barnaby has drawn barrier 7 for The Cambridge Breeders Stakes at Te Rapa on Saturday.

This is the true litmus test for him as he is up against NZ's best 3 year olds. Xtravagant will be short favourite I imagine.

Will be a bit of fun if we win.
-

Drawn OK in 7 too.

-

Yeah, I have gone a bit bolder than I should.

I'm starting to get super excited about this which is ridiculous as Xtravagant is an exceptional horse, aong with a few others in a race and we have won a maiden and a rating 65 ha ha!

I have had a look at the times the competition have run at 1200 and Barnaby heads them all I think and his times are on a slow track where some of their win times have been on a good track. ( I rushed it a bit but I think I am right in saying that)
-

Spoke to a couple of trainers at Ellerslie and they said just get a filly near extravagant on the way to the barriers and he goes all stupid and colty. Same as his brother (He's Remarkable). In fact they used to put a barrier blanet with gelding poo and wees all over it to help mask any other smells. Didn't really work apparently

Jeez some big odds in this race, Barnaby at 2nd fave on $12.20 to win and Xtravagant very short odds and paying more to place than win!
-
Yeah. I'm as nervous as a piece of cheese in a mouse factory.

Hank Marvin running on Wednesday. Race will be for experience purposes only as its a bit short we think. Then he and Park Lane will be off to Hawkes Bay in two weeks. Galaxy Miss heading to Rotorua and then Trentham. -

I already got him at $26 for the win and $5 for the place -

His galloping action looked a bit odd at times, and I thought he didn't have all the luck with space on the turn. They've gone a track record (apparently) and he wasn't a mile away so don't get too disheartened!
