It's concerning, considering he has a history of concussions.
Has he had a history of concussion? I thought he has had concussion like symptoms but tests revealed other issues. Even the article mentioned this was not concussion related.
Before he made the ABs he missed a season of SR due to concussion (I think it was a whole season - if not, it was most of it)
When he missed that 2018 season there was a TSFer (who is generally a good sauce) claimed that an early retirement was being considered

Assuming we are talking about the same spell on the sidelines my memory says this didn't turn out to be concussion. A quick google search suggests it was an inner ear problem.

Oh right, I was thinking that you were referring to 2022 when he had inner ear issues. Well great if he hasn't had concussion issues.

From memory they thought for a long time it was concussion but they eventually determined otherwise. A bit like Ben Smith when they thought he had concussion. Unless of course they are not being totally transparent with the issue.

@Tim How are we positioned in regards to young ones coming through the academy this year.
They'll probably go with Melani Nanai/Chay Fihaki. Macca Springer is coming through, and looks pretty promising, though.
Fihaki needs to step up this year. He has been a bit disappointing so far and mustn't have too many chances left.

Agreed - I think he was only re-signed for 2023, so I expect the coaches have told him he needs to up his game a bit, too.

Macca Springer is probably the next outstanding wing who can play FB in the Crusaders system.
He is a very good athlete I think we will see him get some decent game time in SR this season.
Taine Robinson ÃŪs the other FB who can also play 2nd five they are giving a lot of pre season game time and has trained with the Crusaders in 2022 and this pre season.
The Academy has some good options coming through 2 years away from SR though.
Cooper Roberts and Matt Lowe are interesting FBs coming through the system. -

@Chris pretty sure Matt Lowe is a number 8 from Nelson college
Yeah he is not sure why I thought he was a FB.

@Chris Really like the look of Springer, he bloody exciting prospect, I actually think the same about Holtham as a 9, very tasty players in my opinion.
Yep I agree,Macca Springer has a Will Jordan type vibe about him an exciting player.
Hotham looks like he has something special as well, the Crusaders need a young dynamic HB coming through. -

@Chris George Bell will get a lot more game time this season. We are looking good at Nine, big fan of Will Heinz looked very good in the NPC.
Bell I think is still getting over that Broken toe he can't be far away from playing.
I like the look of Lilo-Willie too he looks like he will add some power to the Loose Forward mix.
We have some exciting new young players this year.
Bell,Lilo-Willie,Springer,Hotham,Kemera. -
