@TheMojoman you're not wrong, my only concerns are
-
Pure population base and closer proximity to Japan means there is potential we just cant compete with
-
they have lions tours and RWC's coming
so yes, currently theyre on thin lice...but long term it would be better for both countries to to try and get on the same page
I see what you did there.

The same page RA wants to read from is one where New Zealanders and New Zealand educated players play for Australian sides, payed for by New Zealand.
McLennan is fisting himself if he genuinely thinks RA could go alone. They don't have the money and any product would be so diluted they'd be selecting a Wallabies team from OS for their RWC, hoping to not suffer the same fate as England.
The best possible explanation for all this is both parties are playing one message in the media trying to look strong, at the active concurrence of the other, while working to the same goal.
The worst possible outcome is RA shafts NZ, hosts a Lions tour and RWC to find after it pays debts it has nothing left.

I’m all for that. We need each other both in Super and international rugby. It’s the way McLenahan is negotiating..like a tool.
-
-
The Aussie franchises and media just lap it up “oh he’s (McLenahan) just standing up for Aussie rugby”
Walk like a piston wristed gibbon, talk like a piston wristed gibbon, act like a piston wristed gibbon..he’s a piston wristed gibbon

@TheMojoman is he a fluffybunny because he says things Australian fans want to hear and NZ fans don't?
NZRU are impressively arrogant - even in how they are running the All Blacks into the ground. I'd say they are the bigger fluffybunnies.

@Derpus hypothetically imagine the reaction in Australia for a second if Australia were hosting an all-Aussie Super Final and the week of the final Robinson had come out and said he wants to can Super Rugby Pacific. It was a dick move.
I have no love for Robinson. They are both fluffybunnies.

Sadly nothing beats the utter cuntery and wankness of NZR's SR declaration - in public with no consultation. Bye SA, Bye Arg, and maybe we'll let 2 Oz teams in if you beg and we think you are good enough. Most def the worst bit of sport based arrogance and bumfuckery ever. Made me embarassed to be a kiwi

Hearing an interesting scoop that NZ Super teams will be able to sort their own kit suppliers for the upcoming season and beyond as the Adidas deal is about to expire. All Blacks will remain with Adidas however.
Cool we might get some good kits, rather than the generic across all teams crap we've had most years

on paper youre right...but in my experience over here it probably wouldnt even be reported and if it was im not sure most people, even rugby people, who know who he was

There's a different between the average Australian and the Australian rugby community.
The rugby community would know and be annoyed. When I say 'the reaction in Australia' I mean the Australian rugby community - admittedly they are small/niche.

Yeah well part of that is the absolute corpse of a Super Rugby franchise that is the Melbourne Rebels. If they were even halfway solid a news story on Super Rugby would make more of a ripple.
-
@KiwiMurph i cant argue with that
i also feel there is a different vibe here because of it, the "rugby people" proper old mates with club blazers are more likely to care about their club than the rebels or super rugby, and it shows with things like rebels games overlapping with our club games...no talk from rugby vic of an earlier kick off so our guys could even get to the club rooms to watch...let alone to aami to watch

Eh? We haven't had same across all teams stuff since 2012.
-
@Yeetyaah yes we have, every year there is the same template with different colours, you might not have noticed as the chiefs always seem to get about 12 x as much effort in their design as anyone else
2020 for example
