Wooohooooo. Love beating the Phoenix. What a game. Rob Lowe was awesome. Leafa and McDowell-White were excellent with the ball on the pick n roll.

    Loved it.

Rupert had a coming out game of sorts, did the business on offence in the first half and threatening defensively with his length. Guards drived and dished well tonight, the bigs dined out on short jumpers. All that without Browne playing due to a mysterious coach's decision

    Seems an even comp

You would pick Sydney and Perth as the best teams and yet both have an early home loss

Brisbane yet to win and Cairns only losing 1, and that home the real surprises so far

@canefan Rupert was a bit frustrating on offence, I thought he got himself into some awkward positions, but I love his perimeter defence with his 7’3 wingspan. Disrupted the Phoenix ball handlers on several occasions.

First half he was great. Second half tried to force it a bit I think. Seems to have good temperament

Loving this old school basketball from the Breakers. Good length on defence, swarming and hustling. Lots of drive and cut, NZB love to make the extra pass. They will be a tough out for any team if they continue playing like this

Breakers pushing the lead up close to 30 near half time. Started to love the 3 which is a mistake. Lots of 2s will bury the Hawks

7-0 run to start the 4th on the back of defensive pressure. Le'afa has to stop shooting 3s. Someone needs to break his arms

Loving our work ethic on the defensive end and the offensive glass. Lowe continues to work his butt off. Add Pardon and Vodanovich and McDowell-White who is one of the best rebounding guards in the NBL, and we have been able to stem the flow when they’ve made runs.

Everything is built on defence, rebounds and hustle. We have a stable of really good bigs and a really strong game plan from Mody

@canefan and solid point guard play. Makes a huge difference when our two PGs are reliable with the ball and don’t play erratic.

So the trend continues with another team winning on the road. There have been more road wins this season across the league than home wins.

Yup. This screen and roll play is killing it right now. Goes to show in this league old school 2 point basketball can win you lots of games. Amazing how much difference a decent coach makes

Six players in double figures and that doesn’t include Pardon and Le’afa! Great team effort and it’s great to back up a good road win with another a couple nights later.

that's another tidy win on the road. pretty even through most of the comp so far. Alarm bells in Brisbane, SE Melbourne and Illawarra already i would imagine though.

    Breakers up here on Sunday

I'm sitting on a Qantas plane to Auckland, the poor Breakers just boarded economy with me. Bad enough at my 6'2, feel sorry for the tall timber!

Breakers go from Melb (Saturday game) to Illawarra (Monday game) then back to Auckland (Thursday game) and then Cairns (Sunday game)

be easier for them if they just based themselves in Australia...
