Hurricanes Under 20s vs Blues Under 20s
-
Blues U20 kicking off.
-
Try Cooper Flanders! Great pass from Godfrey to Higgins, who ran a beautiful line and offloaded to Flanders who ran at full speed to dot down!
-
The biased commentators are annoying.
-
Awesome try to the Blues U20s right winger. Sorry, I haven't seen a line-up.
-
Greedy little prick ..would have been more impressed if he had drawn and passed

Class try that first one, lovely touches from the big three for the Canes.
-
Who's James Parson's co-commentator?
-
Blues have a massive wind advantage in this first half.
-
@Stargazer Bevan Dewar ,friend of mine , hes a Taranaki Boy but is still a Hurricanes supporter through and through ..
-
@Steven-Harris Is he a radio commentator? His voice sounds familiar.
-
@Canes4life by the look of it , i think it will come down to whomever holds the ball
-
@Stargazer ex Radio Sport producer , also calls Japanese Top 14 and Landrover secondary schools rugby
-
Is there A Blues team sheet somewhere..?
-
@Steven-Harris I tried finding it. I don't think they posted one.
-

Some of these players are clearly still in the stage in-between schoolboy rugby and senior rugby. Great skills but too greedy. and not passing when they should.

5.Allan Craig
good to see, I thought he musta been injured as he hasnt played any club footy.
-
Can see why NZ forwards struggle at the World Under 20 tournaments , the attention to detail in an around lineout, scrum and breakdown is crap
-
What’s up with Godfrey’s passing game? He’s had a couple shockers this half.
-
@Steven-Harris One of the Hurricanes U20 assistant coach is Eugene Smith, a former hooker and Wellington U19 coach.
-
@taniwharugby Jordon Hutchings , Dargaville HS product
-
@Canes4life Viljoen's passing has been off, too.
-
@Canes4life Haha, and now a great try assist from Godfrey.
-
It's a pity there's so much wind. It affects the throwing, passing, kicking.
-
I see Hurricanes 23 on the field. Ezra Malo, not sure who he has replaced.
-
Hopefully the Canes will be a lot more effective with the wind.
-
@Stargazer I think Brown at centre.
-
The Blues have gone from having a dominant scrum last year to a scrum under heaps of pressure this year.
Saumaki was big when he played for STAC but looks huge now.
-
Half time: Hurricanes U20 12 - 10 Blues U20
-
This Blues team is not a patch on last years version …there will be 20 points between these 2 teams at games end .
They look poorly coached , and defensively through the inside channels they are woeful ..if i were the Canes i would use the winger thats built like a prop around the first channel even as a decoy -
@Steven-Harris Legacy of not playing much rugby last year?
-
@Steven-Harris yeah and this Canes team has plenty of experience lead by Higgins who debuted for the Hurricanes main side a couple of weeks ago.
-
@Tim yep thats definetly played a part , we never got to see many youngsters from either Harbour or Auckland because of Covid restrictions .
The reason they named the team so late , they were still looking at some kids running around in premier rugby at the start of the season ..
The also had 2 games cancelled because of covid against Harbour Dev & Northland Dev -
One of the Blues U20 tries was scored by no. 14 Cephus Salavao. Remind me again, who scored the other Blues try?

Lauaki (Canes) was the starting NZ schools prop though so that helps our cause.

He looks almost too big - he is bumping off tacklers, but he doesn't look too quick. I almost wonder if we will see him transition to the loose forwards
-
Blues have given up on their starting props for now
-
There isn’t much patience with these young fellas. Trying to score from every play.
-
@Canes4life Yeah, that's why I said that they're still somewhere in-between schoolboys and senior players. Some good talent and skills, but decision-making is still a work-on.
