Sheesh, there wasn't much rugby on tv back in the day. I can remember most of those tries and the Bay wasn't even playing but I must have watched that game/highlights a few times. Now I can barely remember test matches a few months ago.
I couldn’t relate to this post any more than I do. I remember Jonah, Cully, Tana etc as vividly as if they’d played yesterday.

Recently deceased Welsh great JPR Williams taking a brave up and under before being caught and spat out the back of a classic old school All Black ruck. 1972.
also that famous match winning lineout 'dive' scandal. 1978.
Plus the whole game.

24 minutes of the AB-Wales Test of '72 is on Youtube. Well worth a watch if you want to see why Sid Going is rated as the greatest 9 of his era by an awful lot of his peers.

@Victor-Meldrew Sid and Beegee were my first Rugby hero's. There used to be opinions back then that Sid wasn't the best Halfback around due to a limited pass, but that he was the most difficult and dangerous player to play against. I saw an England player interviewed saying that their whole game plan back then was how to stop Going.
-
Not the greatest passer, but compare his passing to Gareth Edwards in that video. Sid was the one passing off both hands...
-
The famous Baabaa's game from 1973.
-
1:16:15. Grant Batty making JPR look a little silly. Unusual occurrence....

Correct call against Wheel but inconsistent from the ref having let it go all match.
NZ forwards made the Spanish footballers look like statues
