Black Caps tour of England 2022

Mitchell and Blundell have fought back well. Pitch still doing enough for the bowlers, but these two have looked pretty solid. Have played the drive with some confidence.
If this test goes more than three and a half days, I’ll be surprised.

Finely poised at the moment but starting to tilt the Black Caps way
If England get 2 quick wickets they are back in it. If Mitchell & Blundell get another 50 or so runs, England could find the game gets away from them.

Fuck crucket by the way.
Ut's conplete shut
Off to bed
You did that last night and we got 7 pommie wickets .
Hope he does that again tonight, keeps working really well for us

Outstanding 180 partnership by Mitchell & Blundell, if they can put on another 100 plus it would be brilliant.
Most of our top order has battered poorly in this test, it's the middle to lower order getting us out the crap.

Day 2 - BLACKCAPS lead by 227 runs with 6 wickets remainingBLACKCAPS - 132/10 (40) & 236/4 (79)
ENGLAND - 141/10 (42.5) -
That was a much better scoreboard than expected this morning. Might make for an interesting team selection once Nicholls is fit/available again. Mitchell continues to make handy runs wherever he's thrown in to bat. Good to see Blundell return to what he's capable of with the bat too. I wonder how well they'll sleep tonight:
They've stretched New Zealand's lead to 227, with six wickets in hand, and they'll come back tomorrow in sight of putting their names on the honours board. [CricInfo]
Unfortunately Latham yet again did poorly in a Test match against Not Bangladesh Or Sri Lanka. Hopefully that means he's finally due in the next two Tests...

Young Kane and Conway have been poor too. They can only improve from here

@Gunner fair play, it's easy in hindsight. You didn't necessarily back them to be long term in those positions
I haven't given my opinion on either of them to be fair.
I rate Mitchell, he's hardly put a foot wrong in the tests he's played so far.
Blundell has been in a real rough patch, so good to see him in the runs again. -
Another question even though my last one went unanswered…..why isn’t Nicholls playing ?
Great guts from Mitchell and Blundell though. Massive scores in the context of this game. Always good when guys come in under pressure and do good. England will struggle from here

Leg muscle injury I think

Injured Calf

Yep, Nicholls was a right calf injury plus a recent bout of Covid while rehabbing.
Wagner was just a selection call. Reading between the lines it might have been a choice between him and Ajaz, based on: https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/sport/468185/boult-and-nicholls-in-doubt-for-first-test
Wags only bowled in one innings in the warmup games - 0/59 off 19 when we got done by the First Class Counties XI by seven wickets, so he may have been a bit underdone. Both teams also seemed to misread the Lords pitch as being better for batting than it was, which may have been why we've played Ajaz for a fourth/fifth day...

@Gunner Mitch Jr has been decidedly unlucky with his timing. For much of our history he'd already have done enough to secure a job for life!!!
He still has opportunity to supplant Nicholls, who to me is one of a few flat track bullies in our side
