@Stargazer Not quite, the game in Melbourne was on Thursday night so plenty of time to get back to HB on the Friday or Saturday morning/afternoon

@Nepia Regardless of whether he played or not our guys should still have been good enough to comfortably dispose of Wellington. What we did not factor into account was Wellington playing miles above the standard they have done all season.
To look at whether their No 8 joined the ruck from in front of the hindmost foot when they got their try and whether their No 7 was on his feet when the penalty was awarded that they scored their first points from and whether the referee should have allowed the quick tap from that last penalty that was taken and our player through to almost the goal line before he blew it back would probably be seen as sour grapes (even if the replays, which I have not seen, vindicate my impressions seen at the ground) as overall we have to concede that the end result, however hard it is still to take, was a fair indication of the match

I had successfully managed to banish this match from my brain ... until now. 🙂

We had a very off day, they had an on day, the reffing was all over the show as usual we had Tiatia. But yeah the Wellington players deserved the win.

I texted my brother in Sydney from the ground when I saw the Mr. Prickerill was the referee to advise him that the match was likely be a bit of a lottery. It was not long into the match before the returning texts agreed and were pointing out injustices to our team!

So, we've qualified for the Quarter-Finals, but why was Nisbo saying we're playing Wellington? I know it's unlikely that Counties beat Wellington, but if they do, the winner of Waikato v BOP will jump over Wellington on the table. So nothing is certain, yet.

From the HBRU Facebook page (4 October 2022):

Looking for something to do this Friday of the school holidays?

This Friday at 10:30am the Magpies are opening up their Captains Run at McLean Park!

Entry through Gate 1 off Latham Street, and access to the Harris Stand. Whilst you won't be able to get onto the field, the players will be doing signings under the Harris Stand following the training. We will have posters and a few giveaways for people that come along!
