@shark both of those shows have done their dash. Were really good maybe 10 years ago, but have got progressively worse
Robbo has become a caricature of what he used to be, so 360 got annoying. Add in the players and coaches being regulars and the level of analysis and real scrutiny has gone. Coaches night on a Monday has been for a while the best segment all week. Chris Scott was actually the best at it astoundingly. Otherwise it's "pick who lost on the weekend and talk about them like they are doomed for all time and the coach is a dead man walking" I assume it was either the Saints or the Bombers this week.
On the Couch used to be my favourite show of any football code. Gerard hadn't got really old, they had Robert Walls who had zero fucks to give, and Mike Sheahan knew an awful lot of goss. Robert Walls going hard at another failed Demons coach one day was as good as anything i have seen (actually Gerard Whately going at James Hird that day was really good too). These days it's blokey bullshit like every other panel staffed by ex-players.
As to your main point, i am disappointed but far from shocked. These guys all know they could be next, so keep your mouth shut.

I got through all of On The Couch last night and maybe a third of 360, and yes they're both Fox shows, but I still can't believe they completely disregarded the Morris issue and in fact only on 360 did they have a very brief soundbite of the Beveridge presser which lead it all off. So Fox seems to be completely ignoring the whole thing which I find a bit ludicrous. They need to front it, address it and move on. The network and it's hosts lose credibility in ignoring it.
I thought AFL 360 did it pretty well actually. You might have missed it but Gerard did a minute-long monologue at the end of the show, basically condemning Morris and talking about the need for change.
But primarily both shows are footy shows, and people tune in to watch discussion about footy. The Morris/Bevo thing happened on Thursday night, Morris was fired on Friday, and there were dozens of thinkpieces written between that point and Monday night.
So what's new to say? Why drag poor Megan Barnard through anything more? But also, do people want to hear it?

is there some sort of employment issue stopping them saying more? potentially can only report strictly on the facts and make sure they steer well clear of editorialising

I like both shows for all their flaws. Robbo talks way too much, some of the coach content is hit and miss, but I still think it's a pretty good hour of telly.
Jack Riewoldt is always good value. The segment with King and Montagna is quite astute. And if the coaches are good (Scott or Dimma) then it's pretty good viewing.
On the Couch has changed up a bit this year, think Gerard has retired? It generally rolls along OK but it's hit and miss.
These days it's often easier to miss the shows and browse the clips on Youtube the next day. You tend to get the best bits without the filler.

i hope to god you mean another King, and not David King. Because David King and astute do not belong in the same sentence.

you wait
Buddy, is this it? buddyyyyyyyyy!!! YES!!!! A THOUSAND GOALS!! LOOK AT THE CROWD ON THE FIELD! A modern day great!!!!
Bunker, score review, on-field decision is a goal, just check it was touched
Bunker confirms, touched off the boot, the score is a behind.
-
we're more likely to keep getting
"Buddy, is this it? buddyyyyyyyyy!!! NO....to the right for a behind...."....for the rest of the season
-
I'm just praying that it's not BT with the mic in his hand when it happens.

where's Huddo when you need him?
-
Car'tin beat the Dogs to go 2-0. Blues fans will be absolutely frothing.
Fuck yeah we are. That first half was literally the best I've ever seen this team play. The wheels fell off a little bit in the second half but they hung on admirably.
It's now beyond doubt that when they produce their best then they can beat pretty much anyone. It's now just a case of doing it for long enough each week to get the W.
We've also got to learn from Richmond. After the third premiership you start to see a drop-off in intensity, so we should be planning for the future in how we turn over our list. Maybe after we go win our second premiership in 23 we make some tough calls about players coming to the end of their careers.
-
@mariner4life I'm a fan of Jason Bennett too. Last week when Docherty kicked his goal he just sat back and said nothing, let us hear the crowd noise and atmosphere. Great piece of work. You know BT or JB would have drowned it out with stupid fucking nonsense.

The Ch7 team has been, for a number of years, some of the worst to listen to in any sport.
Bruce's questions
BT's inane nonsense
JB's puppy-like matey excitement
The dreary deadshit "expert analysis" from Ling and Bartell and CareyThe constant talk about how great they are calling the game. It's just really bad TV.
It could only be worse by stealing Dwayne Russell from Fox

Carlton's 23 year plan definitely showing signs of working out
Cripps is a fucking beast. He gets lots of it, and he's surrounded by guys who use it well. They've got some good young talent too (years and years and years of high draft picks will do that).
-
@mariner4life Cripps looks a completely different player to last year. Cerra and Hewett look like great off-season buys. Walsh is only going to get better.
But the addition of a fit Charlie Curnow to the forward line makes them a 1-2 punch as good as Jeremy Cameron and Tom Hawkins. They now have potency all over the field. If they can get their defence to basically par level then they won't lose too many. It's a big IF though.

I don't know how much you've watched so far but they have had a real personnel shift. Wayne Carey seems to have been turfed (thank god) and I don't think Lingy is around either.
Last night it was Luke Hodge and Jobe Watson with Hamish McLoughlin and Jason Bennett. Daisy Pearce is up in the box more too. It's been a major improvement.

The only FTA game I've watched was the opener.
I fucking HATE Hamish McLoughlin though. With the fire of a thousand suns.
