So how many weeks does Barnett get? That was pretty ugly. 6-8 weeks in my view.
It was ugly and the player impacted had to be replaced. I think 6-8 is going to be about right given they want to stamp this out, but the NRL are notoriously inconsistent .. so lets see how they roll the dice lol

to be fair you could be up for a broken record award, the only contribution to this thread always finishes with I dont care anymore, yet here you are ..again :), as much as it pains you, I think you do care.
It's early days yet by I'm trying to sew up the award early. Of course I care, I want a league team to support but I'm not a guy enthralled by Origin so the Kiwis and the Warriors are it. But, I've watched 40 minutes of Warriors this year and only because I was messaging with my uber league fan mate. At any rate I was just responding to M4Ls post and your response to him, just helping to keep the thread moving.
Anyway, all those guys you mention, even highlighting their downsides, are better than the current group we have - they don't all have to be young guys. Hiku, Maumalo, Herbert are better than Pompey and Berry for example. Fus' I wasn't even including as he seems to be mentally done (plus he's a Tongan traitor) but I reckon his try scoring success was down to Hiku more than Johnson.
Walsh will be gone soon, and he's rocks and diamonds anyway, he might turn into an SJ rather than a JT.

e) and I am not defending the culture or attitude or even half the recruits, but just using emotive comments with little susbstance is hardly a valid argument
I've been commenting, with substance (if I do say so myself), on the Warriors for the past two years. I think you've even agreed with my comments at times.

Like I said, I didnt say they were all good, Pompey does look like a poor version of Herbert. Berry is still a young kid but right now looks like a deer in headlights.

Really?, so after SJ left and Hiku remained, how many tries did he score? Hiku is the only player that you mentioned that I thought letting go was a terrible decision. I still rate him and he was part of that edge, but most of the try assist stats belong to SJ in 2018 of those scored by Fus, not Hiku and that was the year in question.
Walsh will be gone soon, and he's rocks and diamonds anyway, he might turn into an SJ rather than a JT.
He is still a kid with more talent than Pompey, Maumalo and Herbert lol

Of course if I think something is relevant I am not going to argue against it, but the above reference you made was without mentioning any examples ..wasnt one!
Look I still enjoy the game, a pissed off supporter like many, but I dont think everything that has been done is bad..(well, not all of it, hence calling that part of it out)

he's not getting the Latrell superstar discount so i reckon 8
-
@mariner4life i guess it depends also if his defence team can argue careless and not deliberate.. and that is a whopping big if

I'm happy if he gets rubbed out for ages because these are the type of shots we thought we had got rid of
Like how Latrell should have got 10 for caving in a dudes face (and a beautiful face at that)

Visinia with the Paleaasina hit-up. Fitting on this ground.

Good excuse to upload this play with the big man.

i burst in to tears watching that
fuck remember the players we had? Just wildly entertaining attackers and massive forwards who could bash dudes.
Lauiti, iti, Toopi, Meli is the best left side attack i have ever seen.

6 apparently.
6 must be the cap, because no one seems to be able to go above it no matter what they do to a guy's face

wow..the bar is pretty low, still thought Latrell should have got more last year if you take into account the damage done

The next season Hiku got moved to the other flank and Maumalo then became the Warriors top try scorer. SJ easily topped the assists in 2018, but that was across the park not just to Fus, Hiku was second, and pretty much all of his would have been Fus tries. (In his 3 years at the Warriors Hiku was always in the top 2 for try assists).
@bayimports said in NRL 2022:

He doesn't play the same position as them though. He's a talented player and probably was a good pick up for Covid times, but he's not staying, they're basically just giving him experience before he moves to his long term team.

I think I'm just too pissed off. I feel similar to how I felt during the Hammetteur era at the Canes. Unfortunately there's no version of the Magpies I can watch instead - the Hawkes Bay Unicorns don't get televised these days.
Also glad you're still enjoying the game, even my uber Warriors mate was wavering in the preseason but he seems to have found his mojo once the games started. As an example of his Warriors devotion, he started watching MP v the Blues last night and then turned it off when he realised RTS wasn't playing. I did let him know Kata was playing but he claimed he was cooking dinner by then.

ha ha, don't get me wrong, of all the league games I watched last weekend, the warriors game was by far the worst and they have problems and its not blind faith, but I do think they have a roster that should do better than what it is, therefore I expect improvement.
We both know the kid has not signed anywhere else and it was just clickbait, although we are both sure he probably will move on, this isn't fact yet either
I also did watch MP and the Blues last night while doing a work meeting as I enjoy both codes, thankfully no outbursts in the meeting which can happen (probably because the Chiefs were not playing) lol

The reason why clubs at the bottom are fucked.
Rookie on basic deal has breakout game. Instant reports of big money deals. Player manager shops around said player around. Clubs interested. Current club has to then over pay or lose said player. And then the Roosters, or Melbourne, or Souths turn up, and offer unders for the chance to win stuff (and then 3rd party deals). So either the original club loses their player, or fucks up their cap with a guy who may not actually be worth $600k.
Or, the Payne Haas situation, where suddenly he wants ridiculous money. The Broncos would be mad to pay it. But if the don't he gets the shits and leaves. Either to another dumb club, or to the Roosters for less (plus 3rd party).
There are so many clubs rooted to the bottom of the ladder with rosters loaded with bad, panic contracts.
-
@mariner4life absolutely, on the Haas one you are quite right, no one should pay what he is asking for as too much of the cap gets absorbed into a prop alone no matter how good he is. There is an element of does he actually want to play for the broncos? (and to your point all clubs not listed in the big names above), it may not be about the money, he may just want out, but the money will make him stay.
On Nanai week 2 he misses 10 tackles the following week he poaches some of Hiku's tries scores a hat trick and he is the 1.8m kid lol. The extra team doesn't help in the bidding wars especially for lower order clubs
-
I must say anybody else concerned about the 17th team next year? Kinda struggling to get players...
Only have one back so far?...... and not a very good one either
-
They will struggle I think it looks like this currently, but you are right many positions to fill
PLAYER POSITION
Jamayne Isaako Fullback/Wing
Felise Kaufusi Second-row
Jesse Bromwich Prop
Kenny Bromwich Second-row
Ray Stone Lock/Hooker
Mark Nicholls Prop
Isaiya Katoa Halfback
Valynce Te Whare Centre -
Tigers bring more teams to their level in another bludger of a game and find away to lose in the last minute where it should not have been possible
-
@bayimports Ohhhh ya gotta feel for the Tigers haha how did that happen! When it's not going for you, it's not going for you!
A bludger of a game summed up with a bludger of a try to win it. Had Corey Thompson scored early on, I feel the Titans go on to win comfortably, but they never got out of first gear after that.
-
First 20 minutes, we actually look like a decent sideβ¦.
-
Sheesh, league is confusing these days. Defender tackles player without the ball and the commentators say you need to keep pressure on attackers, then when a defender tackles a player around the legs they make out like it's the worst thing you can on the field.
@ACT-Crusader I was just about to say they're playing uncommonly well and then the Broncos go in.
