Not only has Boult, Southee and Jamieson under performed with the ball.
They threw their wkts away when we could have scored 400 plus. Those 3 need to lift their games they need a rocket under their butts.
Don’t forget Wags got a golden duck too but at least it made him angry and effective.
I didn’t,forget,But he has tried his arse off with the ball,He gets credit from me for trying to lead the attack and putting in 100% with the ball.
The other 3 not much ticker with bat or ball for me.Hang on a moment, Boult didn’t even get out !!!!!!
They way he batted it forced Nicholls to get out.
Boult was trying to hit everything out of the ground,He should have supported Nicholls to help him through to 100.
Reckless batting for me not the way a 11 should bat with a top 5 bat on 70 down the other end.Haha, I genuinely can’t argue with this.
Brilliant ferning, arguing that it’s someone else’s fault that an individual got out
If you understand team tactics it was dumb by Boult.
Not batting for the team.
If my no.11 I coach in the Qld youth teams did that he would be half way out of the side.I agree completely, it was a bit dumb. But then again of the three tail enders Wags is by far the best suited in terms of temperament to block and hang around. Nicholls was still 25 short of the ton, he wasn’t in the late 90s.
Boults ongoing selection in the team won’t be hindered or enhanced by his batting ( but his average is excellent for last man in )
Close enough for me to push for 100.I understand Boult plays that way and it is probably his best chance to score runs,
But I was disappointed in how Jamieson and Southee
Got themselves out if they want to bat at 8 and 9 we need better from them.First dig about his batting this season so far. Surprised it took that long !
More to come if he bats that way again.

Yep, the Black Caps lower order needed to find a way to somehow stay with Nicholls, but none of them did, triggering that final sweep and a below par score.
The five bowlers now have had a lot of time in the sun to reflect on that, and they look like having plenty more at this rate...
Very subdued on the bank today compared to Days 1 & 2...

Marvellous standing ovation for Sir Ross Taylor when he walked out to bat.
Good thing I spent most of the day at the ground, as the Shithouse Spark Sport app has lagged several times in the ten minutes since we’ve been home.
I seem to have the opposite experience from you with the apps - I find the Sky Sport app laggy as fuck, particularly when I play it on my T.V. (if I play it via my PS4 it is marginally better), whereas the Spark Sport app is smooth as. I also absolutely loathe the fact that the Sky Sport app still acts as if you are watching it on the box rather than streaming with no option to play from the start. That caught me out with an ABs game that I was 30 minutes late for, just took me straight to half time with no way of watching from the beginning.
Looks like you've been lucky with Spark: https://i.stuff.co.nz/sport/cricket/127425242/spark-sport-makes-black-caps-cricket-coverage-changes-after-subscriber-complaints
They're getting a bit of grief on Twitter too...

@donsteppa Das may have hurt his back on that shot

Jamieson's bowling looks more like a poor man's Jacob Oram than the man of last season.
Southee also looks very laboured by his standards.
Double “ouch” for this post.
I mean we all knew Jamiesons stats HAD to peter out a bit. No modern player in the games history has maintained that sort of average over any length of time. I say modern player because of all the guys ahead of him on the all time list SF Barnes retired most recently…..the only one last century in fact in 1914 with 189 wickets at 16.43. obviously batsmen scored fuck all in those days, part of the reason WG Grace is so revered despite averaging under 40.
Jamieson went into this match at 16.03 but is currently 17.42.

Wagner looks dangerous with the old ball for two overs so of course give the new ball to Southee who has taken bugger all wickets with his last 5 new balls.
This is Wagner time. Dead pitch, comfortable batters. Bring the rage
