Guildford to start for Tahs v Reds
-

I see today Graham's biggest supporter left the board, so there could be a mid-season review if (when) the Reds completely suck again

-

Reds team to take on the Waratahs:

1. Ben Daley 2. Saia Fainga’a 3. Greg Holmes 4. Cadeyrn Neville (Queensland debut) 5. Rob Simmons (C) 6. Hendrik Tui 7. Curtis Browning 8. Jake Schatz

9. Nick Frisby 10. Jake McIntyre 11. Eto Nabuli (Queensland/Super Rugby debut) 12. Henry Taefu Queensland/Super Rugby debut) 13. Samu Kerevi 14. Chris Feauai-Sautia 15. Karmichael Hunt

Reserves

16. Andrew Ready 17. Sef Fa’agase 18. Sam Talakai 19. Ben Matwijow (Queensland/Super Rugby debut) 20. Michael Gunn 21. Scott Gale 22. Sam Greene 23. Ayumu Goromaru (Queensland/Super Rugby debut)
-

It will be interesting to see if Guildford pans out better than Anesi.

-

Gill out for a month in Reds land. Massive loss for them in terms of defense.

Reds lineout probably better than ours, scrum might be as well because I don't think I've ever seen Paddy at LHP. Tahs should have too much class and experience through the backline BUT that relies on Beale and the rookie having good games.

Horne versus Kerevi at 13 should be interesting: broad sword versus battle hammer...
-

If the tahs don't walk this questions should be asked. A Reds team full of not-quite or who-the fuck? players, with shit halves, coached by a coach with a proven losing record, should not pose a problem for a team with finals aspirations.

-

And that is the general consensus among the logical.

But even at their shittest, the Reds pulled off a couple of wins against us that should never have happened.

I've got faith in Gibson - nearly as much as Cheika - and think he'll earn even more of my trust based on the manner of our game play.

Also looking forward to Jed Holloway finally getting a run at his preferred position for the Tahs. Only 23, 195cm, 116kg and could be a long-term option as a genuine 8. Decent turn of pace as well. Been around for a couple of years but Palu going offshore has created this opportunity. Will have Dennis and Hooper for support in the back row, along with Mumm, Skelton, and TPN to shoulder a lot of the work up front.

One thing is for sure: we've got a shitload of ball-carrying in that pack.
-

The Tahs are eminently capable of being brought down to the level of their opposition.

So is getting drunk and bashing old men. Mental illness might be a reason but it shouldn't be an excuse.
-
