England really do pick guys on potential rather than track record and hope for the best. Aside from one huge double ton Crawley has done fuck all to show anything thus far. Perhaps today is his day.

And for me that separates him and Hameed from Rory Burns: their setup is better. They are still and measured at the wicket. No, Hameed hasn't always made great decisions but I thought the 25 he made in Brisbane was better than Burns' single performance later on.
