Second-ranked batsman in the world can't easily play out a hattrick ball shows just how hard it it.
At the same time, Cummins gave him something on 6th stump and he flashed at it next over. That wasn't even part of Joe Root's early career.

Well after half a day of spirited cricket it looks like England remembered that they’re England. Talk about absolutely fucked. Still a glimmer of hope if one or both of these two stays around but it’s not looking promising.
if I was Stokes I’d be on the phone to Beefy Botham asking him about 81 and getting a few tips.
If I was Root I’d be unable to sleep from the stress of carrying this team.
Warner should get two days of golf in all things considered.

4 down for minus 59
Odds on a margin innings+ ?
That would be a record win time, for the ashes, I think? Good odds, one would imagine

Quite impressive from the Aussies here, destroying a mentally fragile England team.
Worth pointing that the current test champions had their arse handed to them 3-0 the last time they toured there though.
Australia really can be a brutal place to tour if you aren't running at 100%.

England getting it the neck from the UK media:
"After a first-innings capitulation for 185, Michael Vaughan said that “the only thing they’ve got right is to turn up on time”. No sooner did he make that remark than they contrived to turn up 30 minutes late. " - Oliver Brown, Daily Telegraph
