@mick-gold-coast-qld When said aloud it sounds like 'cum inside her', which is a slang reference to a man ejaculating his semen while his penis is inserted into his partner's vagina or anus.

Uuurrrggghhh! I should have shouldered arms, ... let it go! Or asked my son when we speak later - he would say "No Dad, you don't need to know." 🙄

Thank you for your direct response, I do appreciate it.

I assumed it had something to do with Pat Cummins.

The vernacular changes, you need to be out there as part of the chatter in slips to keep up with it. I don't expect to know today's cleverest lines. 😎

I can't remember whose book it was in - maybe Steve Waugh's - but, apparently when they were trying to find a nickname for him someone suggested "Drobe".

Alan Border was apparently fielding in the slips and mystified, "Drobe Waugh? Drobe Waugh? I don't get it?!

Mark's alleged nickname of Afghan as the forgotten Waugh always amused me.

We can’t talk, we have Canterbury All Blacks like Reado, Franksy and Marshy. Still, that region isn’t noted for subtlety or originality I guess.

His best was “Audi” after he got four ducks in a row vs Sri Lanka. He was lucky he went on to a very good career after that debacle.

    https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/ashes-2021-22-3rd-test-australia-aim-to-clinch-the-ashes-with-england-needing-inspiration-1294272

Australia have juggled their fast-bowling pack again. Cummins' is back after his enforced absence in place of Michael Neser while Scott Boland will make his debut in place of Jhye Richardson who has a leg injury. Josh Hazlewood has not recovered from his side strain.

1 David Warner, 2 Marcus Harris, 3 Marnus Labuschagne, 4 Steven Smith, 5 Travis Head, 6 Cameron Green, 7 Alex Carey (wk), 8 Pat Cummins (capt), 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Scott Boland, 11 Nathan Lyon

As expected, England have made a number of changes. Rory Burns, Ollie Pope, Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad have all been left out in favour of Crawley, Jonny Bairstow, Mark Wood and Jack Leach. It means that England have what looks a more balanced attack with the extra pace of Wood and left-arm spin of Leach, although he is sure to be targeted by the Australia batters as he was in Brisbane.

1 Haseeb Hameed, 2 Zak Crawley, 3 Dawid Malan, 4 Joe Root (capt), 5 Ben Stokes, 6 Jonny Bairstow, 7 Jos Buttler (wk), 8 Ollie Robinson, 9 Mark Wood, 10 Jack Leach, 11 James Anderson

I reckon Hameed is lucky to survive. Looked completely out of his depth in the six balls he faced in his last innings but then again they old ‘deck chairs on the titanic’ adage comes to mind to be honest. Burns showed more than he did but got dropped.

Perhaps the memory of Ray Illingworth will spur them on ?

How good is a Boxing Day test now all the Xmas shit is done and dusted ? I’m having a booze free day though, so the kombucha will have to do instead.

Well, it took nine balls this time, always good to be proven right…..his technique and body language was shot to fuck from the moment he took guard. Hopeless.

To be fair to England, they aren’t spoilt for choice with batting options, and Hameed at least looks like he has a better technique to survive than Burns. Even though another duck is the result…

Interesting logic for a guy who scored two very quick ducks in a row.

Feet are nowhere. Hands too far in front. Get out of your crease, mate. This is Australia.

Burns has the sort of technique (mainly backlift) that, if you saw a kid in an opposition team bat like that, you’d just tell your kids to bowl at middle stump and soon he’ll miss a straight one…
