This England team is shit. You can't send a bunch of guys averaging 30 to Australia and expect to compete.

    Kiwi fans know this intimately

Finally the guy with the punchable face is out.

    That's a bit vague! 🙂

Apropos to my comment above - if all of Marnus' big lives in this innings were taken his 103 runs in this innings would have come at an average of 25.75 instead of 103.

What annoys me the most is how the Aussies mispronounce his name, yet in the 2000s Wallabies fans/commentators were fine with saying Jannes Labuschagne correctly.

England too shite and Australia too ruthless and too professional for this year's Ashes to be that engaging for the neutral. 5-0 seems very, very likely.

Burns beat Harris 4-3 at least. That’s a win for England

It is at his insistence that it is Labuschange like Champagne. The Hyacinth Bucket of test cricket.

Funny how that aussie all rounder Green(?) came out to bat and got bowled by Ben from Chch second ball. The aussie comms could only squeeze in a couple of minutes of fapping about how good he is. Then they went on about Stokes being the English Talisman. Ha give me Neil from Pretoria anyday. We loves Wags ❤

Stokes would be very handy for NZ. Wish he was ours.

Being a bit of a pork chop of some variety is almost a pre requisite for being a world class all rounder no? Has there been one that wasn't? Almost by definition you have to be a natural athlete who just happens to be good at everything. (its weird Australia has not produced many post WWII)

Ben Stokes would have taken the CDG spot in the WTC Final side... so yes a slight upgrade.

@rotated are you saying Stokes is a pork chop? I keep hearing similar but what has he actually done? Nobody has given examples apart from the media talking him up beyond his actual stats. Sure he clouted a couple guys a few years ago but the alleged circumstances around that hardly makes him a dick.

Its difficult to put your finger on why Hadlee was so unpalatable to the Aussies yet totally understandable. Ditto Botham, Khan, Watson, Cairnsy all the way back to Keith Miller.

I like Stokes and massively wish he played for NZ (even if that gave Canterbury another cap), but I can understand why his swagger (?) gets a rise out of others.

Fair point. Not sure why I feel like sticking up for him, perhaps because he comes across ok to me. I have my pet hates like everybody - Steve Smith and his 'mini me' immediately spring to mind.

Pffffft….he wouldn’t make the Black Caps team. Fifth best All Rounder in the world, we already have the sixth ( Kyle Jamieson )

I have no difficulty explaining that: He was bloody good. Had he been Australian he'd have been lionised.

The unfortunate thing for Neser is that no matter how well he bowls there's a reasonable chance that his test batting average will end up stuck on 35.
