They can't count. Easy to forget Scotland though!
That would be one of the smallest loose forward trios with three no.7s.

The worst thing though, is that I can't even complain about anyone missing out. Pretty telling!

World Rugby Men’s Sevens Player of the Year 2021: Marcos Moneta (Argentina)
Marcos Moneta had shown glimpses of his potential on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2020, but it was at the Olympic Games in Tokyo that he announced his name to the watching world with six tries to finish as top try-scorer as Argentina won the bronze medal. The 21-year-old, a Youth Olympic Games gold medallist in 2018, scored his tries at key moments, not least a double in the quarter-finals as the six – and for a period five – men of Argentina held off South Africa to keep their medal hopes alive. Moneta is the first Argentinian to win the accolade.
Nominees: Napolioni Bolaca (Fiji), Scott Curry (New Zealand), Jiuta Wainiqolo (Fiji)
World Rugby Women’s Sevens Player of the Year 2021: Anne-Cécile Ciofani (France)
The first French player nominated for the award, Anne-Cécile Ciofani breaks the dominance of Australia and New Zealand in this category. The 27-year-old was in inspired form in 2021, scoring seven tries in the World Rugby Sevens Repechage to book France’s ticket to Tokyo 2020 and enable her to follow in her parents’ footsteps as an Olympian. Ciofani crossed for seven tries in Tokyo, only failing to do so in the opening match against Fiji, as France claimed a deserved silver medal.
Nominees: Sarah Hirini (New Zealand), Alowesi Nakoci (Fiji), Reapi Ulunisau (Fiji)

Just catching up with this thread.
Didn't Jordan breakthrough last year?
BB the best 10? It's not 2016. I saw on another poll somewhere they had BB and Mo in the top 10 players - I thin their selection method was pull names out of the hat.
Did I fall asleep during matches this year? Why is Ardie getting rated so highly, he didn't have abad year but over 12 months it's not like he was outstanding in comparison to the other NZ loosies. He didn't get close in the Fern MOTM poll even with the Canes fans voting block.

I think I read somewhere they didn't have any awards last year so it's a bit of a two-year composite.
But, Will had a bit of a mixed bag in his two tests in 2020.
First game he came on, got a head knock and left again - after five minutes.
Second game he came on - snapped up two quick opportunist tries - sealed a bonus point - and won the Championship!

Hard to argue with:

Ardie Savea over Jordan is a fucking joke.
What am i missing?
-
@mariner4life to be fair to Ardie, he has played bloody well, and consistently so, problem is, he throws out the balance of our loosies too much (esp at 8 ) and therefore affects quite alot of our game...but clearly we know jack shit given he won this and was supposedly the best 8 in the world this year...
