India have taken 2 very poor reviews.
Could come back to bite them, given that we are barely 15% through the run chase.
You are a supreme optimist
My post was factually accurate.
Now India failed to review an LBW that would have overturned the not out decision.

Oh I know. But if we win this game I will shout you a virtual beer. Its just nice to see some of our batters display some fight

Nicholls is looking all out of sorts. However, if he can survive till stumps he just might have a big innings in him.
I note the TAB is no longer offering odds on the result.

Just play out the day Mitch.
Run outs in test match cricket are just stupid.

And now Blundell idiotically runs himself out without troubling the scorers...
I miss BJW

I think we're into some interesting selection times for the Test side over the next twelve months.
Last night I started to think about a side for Bangladesh without Williamson and Taylor in response to @Chris-B's post, and got myself into a tangle much quicker than I expected. Mainly because Ajaz. I started thinking through roughly...
- Latham
- Young
- Conway (or vice versa with Young)
- "Hmm... possibly Philips, or possibly move Nicholls up one" (I'm not a noted Nicholls fan, but I suppose he does make his own luck)
- Nicholls
- Blundell (although his form with the bat hasn't been great in the last few months, I can't think of others in the near future?)
- Ravindra, and then I'll pick the usual four pace... hang on... what about Sir Ajaz Patel?
I then wondered about:
- Latham (c)
- Young/Ravindra
- Ravindra/Young
- Conway
- Nicholls
- Blundell
- Jamieson
- Southee
- Wagner
- Patel
- Boult
Which offers five bowlers plus part time spin, but Jamieson and Southee feel about a spot too high in the batting order.
Might make for some fun times for the selectors...! Especially as and when Kane's elbow heals. I wonder if surgery looms, or if it's even possible for the nature of his injury, but it doesn't seem to be going away any time soon...
-
@donsteppa does anyone know what the injury is?
I got like a tendonitis in my elbow a couple of months ago and it's a pig of a thing at flaring up again. Not much you can do about it and if KW has something similar I can understand why he cant play. The general soreness is easy to deal with but you can get a shooting pain from a rather simple movement that twists things a funny way.
As for your team I think we have to resign ourselves to removing a pace bowler in the sub-continent. Horses for courses though eg Wags may offer something that Southee or Boult doesn't on these pitches.
Biggest mystery is why KJ was so poor this match.

I was thinking more for Bangladesh at Bay Oval, though for future sub-continent matches it will be interesting to see who a second frontline spinner could be. I've always hoped Ish Sodhi could become more consistent in the longer form of the game, but that still seems to be a way off.

@donsteppa would be a little concerned with Kyle at 7 when Ravindra is batting as high as 2 or 3. Would love to see Ravindra continue to build experience in the middle order, but that may well be a luxury we can’t afford in the next year or so.
