I have seen Te Aute play a bit of sevens - he looked a bit small to cope with big guys running at him but no doubt Titch has given him his work-ons. He's lightning fast off the mark so will be interesting to see how he goes.

France leading 12-0 at half time. NZ clearly missing some experienced players. They need a much better second half.

NZ in trouble against France - 12 nil down halftime. Of course Collier stuffs up a movement right on halftime.

Dodgy Yarpie ref as well - that was a penalty for holding on at the start of the game, no try for France

Meh all 7s refs are usually rubbish - there's only been one team in this game.

Well, that was embarrassing! Losing 24-0 to France. If they continue to play like this, it's only to get worse against Canada & USA.

NZ losing to France wasn't the only upset of the first pool games at the Singapore 7s :

Australia lost to Argentina (7-12)

Wales lost to Japan (19-26)

Fiji lost to Samoa (14-28)

NZ plays Canada at 6.05pm.

Think a lot of the big guns have taken the chance to rest players for this one, so these results aren't too surprising.

Really open for the Blitzbokke here.

The Frogs are now giving the Yanks a big hurry up, leading 19 - 12 midway through the second half
